Must be between 21-86 and live in the US. Must have an iPhone 8 or newer. Must wear daily for data collection, perform a series of cognitive surveys. Download the app and perform the questionnaire along with a cognitive test to qualify. After the test, you confirm your address and they send you the Apple Watch SE. It took about a week after finishing the main survey. And I just received it by FEDEX. Apple Watch SE 44mm Space Gray. I was not given a choice of which watch I wanted.
You can read more about it on their website. Or search the App Store for Intuition.
Be part of Intuition: a brain health study
Intuition is a virtual research study sponsored by Biogen, in collaboration with Apple, for participants between the ages of 21 and 86. By joining us, you can help researchers investigate the role an Apple Watch and iPhone could play in:
Measuring changes in thinking and memory in adults
Studying longer-term changes in brain health – some of which may occur normally as we age, while others could be an early indicator of certain forms of dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease
This study, therefore, may be an important step toward better understanding overall brain health.

Have you completed virtual visit task? How was the overall experience? If you can share thanks
They don't spam for anything. This is a virtual clinical trial. There a few memory/cognitive tests -easy. Not sure who qualifies. Call the toll free number for info. APPLE watch is used to measure activity. Biogen wants to see if there is any correlation between activity level and cognition. Biogen is a real company. Clinicaltrials.gov is legitimate too. Don't bother if uninterested.
I qualified too. Not sure what algorithm used
IQVIA is a company that Helps with clinical trials. Contract basis. They do a lot of the work.
"Your participation will last up to 2 years."
"keep the Apple Watch you receive if you earn enough points by completing activities during the study"
possible they will bill you if you don't complete the study over 2 years.
They will have a hard time getting it back. No credit card number, nothing but your address. The consent form doesn't mention returning the watch or you'll be billed.
I qualified. I don't have cognitive impairment (yet?) but I have risk factors. The watch retails for $279 and has heart rate and fall detection. If you want the latest with all the bells and whistles, get an Apple Watch 7, but give the SE to your family member or use when you sleep. Only have to pair with their study app. Even tho I asked for 40mm, the watch came with small and large wristbands. IQVIA is a legit company which does a lot of clinical trial work for bio/pharma companies. In reading the info, the watch measures activity and maybe there's a correlation between activity and brain function. There's all sorts of reasons you/may not qualify. The virtual visits are exercises/tasks on an iPad /laptop initially, but daily tasks are on your Phone. The daily take 90 seconds x 2 (3xs a day at your convenience) out of the day if you qualify.

It took 2-3 weeks. Iqvia will email the watch is being processed and FedEx box sent within 2 days.

You're welcome. They are looking for 50 years and older now.
No my friend qualified with no impairment, but she had type 2 diabetes and 60 yrs old. They have their young group. Now they want 60-86 yrs old. It takes about an hr to go thru the questions, fyi. They do a soft credit check to make sure you are a real person too. But you find out if you qualify after you answer their questions.
Virtual visit meant answering questions on a laptop or tablet. Nothing more. All exercises done on the iPhone or laptop or iPad. Currently looking for those 60-86. Easy and no need to talk to anyone. Check the app for tasks. They are memory and repetitive tasks but interesting. It might frustrate you to not get everything right! But given they are repetitive, you get used to what's coming and hopefully do better. Does not require math or any skills except following directions in English. They give you practice tries to make sure you have the idea of what to do on your phone. Be sure to check the app because the tasks accrue points. I'm in month 4 and have 27k points. one needs to complete 75% of tasks to keep watch or they will ask for it back at end of study. You can cash out the points and they still go toward the watch. 27k points = $27 in gift card. You can choose when to use. The use of points is a bonus.
The exercises consist of matching lines "objects" and finger drawing on the phone. Plus matching shapes/ drawings on the laptop/iPad. You will know if right or wrong. Takes some concentration. It's more difficult than matching ducks or objects you're familiar with because the pics are a bit abstract. Good luck. I enjoy the experience because I like puzzles. Some days are better than others. The app does not buzz to remind you of the tasks. You have to periodically check the app for a red check mark. Hope this helps. The exercises on the phone might take 5 min total each time because they are 90 seconds each but still have to read directions. There are two week challenges where they ask you to do tue exact same tasks 3 x a day x3 min each. Quarterly only.

Age probably. The 21-50/60 slots filled up quickly.
