Have it on Xbox but haven't had time to play on that console.
Thanks for post. For Deku deals I had it at $25 for an alert but this is close enough.

When I was single, I could just spend all my time in front of a computer or a TV, but now that I'm not, it's just so much more convenient to game on a Switch that I prefer it 8 out of 10 times.
When playing in handheld I cannot tell the difference from PS4 aside from some cutscene FPS drops. Only when playing docked is it apparent, but still amazing for the Switch's limited horsepower.
Agree that it's a step down graphically, but it is incredibly well done, responsiveness and speed in combat is retained and scaling of distant textures minimizes noticable issues.
I still find myself pausing to take in snow capped mountains or a vista at sunset, and they retained more bloom and lighting effects than I expected.
You still get lost in the world, I just wanted to test the different graphics settings and suddenly it was three hours later and I'd finished every Quest in White Orchard.
This is still one of the greatest games and stories of all time in my book, akin to Skyrim but with so much more heart and soul. Some choices I made in game still haunt me to this day, which is rare for a game for me.

show the DIGITAL FOUNDRY tests
at least those guys do show the upsides and downsides of the graphical settings
as like the "ultracrisp" edition making tons of surfaces glimmer and flicker due to the lack of AA

No one should be going into a switch edition expecting it's going to compare to PC or PS4 with horsepower more comparable to Xbox 360 generation.
It looks good enough, especially on the size and resolution of the small handheld screen, and retains smooth FPS and responsiveness in combat.

My wife and I went through a particularly tough time in our life where we lost a baby. It is not uncommon to miscarry, but either way it sent me into a less than ideal headspace.
Wanting a distraction, I bought this game on sale and fired it up. I played a few hours (maybe 3-6 hours), and got to a quest in which the main character had to help someone and their baby who died before birth. It was borderline triggering, but I progressed cautiously.
A few minutes later, and without spoiling what I have since learned is a very well known quest, the baby (seemingly without warning) transformed into this big monster with baby-characteristics! I had to fight and kill it! It was one of the most messed up things I've ever seen in a video game.
Looking back, I can laugh at the situation, but holy smokes, this was the OPPOSITE of what I needed at that point in my life. I turned off the game and never opened it up again.
Again, I know this game is popular and presumably very well made, but I just share this tale because I know that people are in a range of headspaces when they play various games. I wish someone had mentioned this to me so wanted to share it here. Cheers
