When playing in handheld I cannot tell the difference from PS4 aside from some cutscene FPS drops. Only when playing docked is it apparent, but still amazing for the Switch's limited horsepower.
Agree that it's a step down graphically, but it is incredibly well done, responsiveness and speed in combat is retained and scaling of distant textures minimizes noticable issues.
I still find myself pausing to take in snow capped mountains or a vista at sunset, and they retained more bloom and lighting effects than I expected.
You still get lost in the world, I just wanted to test the different graphics settings and suddenly it was three hours later and I'd finished every Quest in White Orchard.
This is still one of the greatest games and stories of all time in my book, akin to Skyrim but with so much more heart and soul. Some choices I made in game still haunt me to this day, which is rare for a game for me.
Blood and Wine really puts a bow on the story and feels like the real ending, and Touissant is a massive and absolutely beautiful new region.

I think I would only buy this for Switch if it's absolutely the only way you can play this game. And even then, I might tell someone to just continue waiting (it came out in 2015) until your next console to play it.
At 2:00 they do side by side comparison from 3.5 to patch 3.6 "extra crispy edition" lol
