In case you want to upgrade, $300-$400 increase is only possible if you are an idiot and have no idea about current market pricing.
For example, a 512GB PCIe SSD can be found around $50-$60 mark pretty easily and there are plenty of deals right now in SD. Example: https://slickdeals.net/f/15539068-neo-forza-esports-3400mb-s-512gb-m-2-nmve-dram-internal-ssd-44-99?src=SiteSear
For 16GB (8GBx2) DDR4 3200 Memory Kit, it is just $60: https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16...6820374023
So, by just spending around $100, you can upgrade to 16GB DDR4 Ram and 512GB PCIe SSD and you can sell that 4GBx2 kit to get something back.
Next time, do a very little bit of research before posting, instead of your assumptions.

At least it's not the 1600x900 that HP has done at this size for years on some models.
And, thanks for the black keyboard. I have a silver version of this laptop which is less than ideal for key visibility.
Past a couple of feet or so and nobody's (minus the eagle-eyed) going to be able to discern pixels.

Removing entire back cover is not easy for normal users. Losing warranty is another concern.
