I keep alkaline there because I live in very hot, humid climate and some recommend keeping them cool to avoid leaking-so it is just the most convenient place. Have not had one leak that way and that includes Duracell. I keep the button ones there for convenience in same drawer. Does not seem to affect charge or longevity.

My grandma has always done that. It has never made any noticeable difference.
Do you know of any decent testers. I was considering this mainly for the tester. I don't usually take my batteries for a walk but I also never had a carrier for them.

Personally, I don't have room in my fridge for all the food I'm getting at bargain off slickdeals...that I don't really need...so I haven't got an inch to spare for batteries!
