TW phone: MH5G3LL/A
BestBuy accept this model only: MRYR2LL/A

If I create online trade-in request from bestbuy web site, it specifically says "Model: MRYR2LL/A" for $190 trade-in value.

I'm wondering how many people actually able to trade-in for gift cards? Maybe Bestbuy now aware that a lot of XR trade-ins these days and put more strict rules?
Both are valid. MH5G3LL/A is a US/Canada variant and also used by Verizon/ sprint. Other one is an international variant. You might have selected a wrong XR type while trading in. Select Verizon. And locked.

Hope this helps

Edit. You are right it's only expecting MRYR2LL/A. How are others trading in?? Can you throw some light

Yes one of my local store actually rejected the trade in due to model number mismatch.

Hey everybody stop worrying about the warranty…. If you end up with a problem and live in a big city take your phone to a local shop … they will fix most things for $40 to $50 ……
Last time I took my iPhone to an Apple store they told me they won't fix it cause I abused it by bending it……they made a model that easily bent …. Google " iphone bendgate " for details .
This is the best phone I ever purchased for just over $100 so I purchased a few of them .
Hopefully I don't ever again have to spend close to a thousand dollars for a new iPhone .
If you do need a new iPhone with a warranty go for the new iPhone 11 …. Mine cost $750 just over a year ago.

Best deal on the planet to trade in for $800 bill credit with tmo. Upgraded all 4 of my iPhone 12's to 13's for total of -$2,400. My bill for the next 30 months will be roughly $40/month for 4 phones and 4 Watch lines and home internet.

Every single person on this thread has reported 100% battery health. This can only mean that they changed batteries for refurbishing.

All my used iPhones have less than 100% battery life.
Checked today my xr, activated on Oct 26, 2021. According to coconut battery, i have somewhat 103% and 2 cycles on the battery. But the phone itself was produced in April, 2021 while my battery was produced on March, 2021.
Basically, Apple shipped it in April, 2021. Then it was waiting someone to buy it until Oct, 2021. Someones used it and charged 1 times and sent it back as a return. Now in january i bought it. It was waiting 2 month probably at the refurbishment center. I charged yesterday (so only once) but i do have 2 charge cycles on the phone.
Manufacturer is sunwoda - seems to be the staff that Apple puts oem.
Also my screws seems to be virgin, as i have opened couple iphones and know what kind of marks should be left if opened.

TLDR: you may have 100% battery health if phone was activated 2 month ago. Most of my new iphones lost 100% mark on month 3 after everyday charging.

We're talking about Total Wireless phones though, right!? You can't just throw a TMo sim in it without unlocking it in some fashion, can you?
Sorry my bad.. I am posting here and on the Sprint 800 TIV credit thread... yes TW will first need to be unlocked via Turbo Sim, you can't use tmo or sprint.. directly..but within TMo and Sprint after merger lock policy doesn't impact swapping between them.

Got 4th XR.

First one had an issue where sim card will just not be read. Tried with 2 different SIMS. No problem since i traded in to Bestbuy.

Rest 3 look brand new. 100% battery, ZERO dirt in all the grills (its really tough to have zero dirt in the ear-piece and speaker grill if its has been used for a few days), also no signs of any scratches at all anywhere.

Thanks for posting this. It would be common sense at this point to expect the battery to have been replaced? How else would the battery be at 100% capacity on a phone that's more than 2 months old? Of course the battery was replaced, likely on all but the brand new phones.
But if the battery was replaced it would show up in the Parts and Service History in iOS 15.2 and, at least in my case, it doesn't (and the phone is almost 4 months old).

Just because a phone was first bought more than a couple of months ago, it doesn't mean that it has been used for all that time. It could have been returned shortly after purchase and not used since.

Labeling a phone as "refurbished" doesn't mean it was used extensively, it just means it was returned for some reason and is being resold. It can't be sold as new but the refurbishment could mean as little as being reset and cleaned up.

Because you can submit the unlock request before 60 days but the chances of it being granted are slim to none (emphasis on none).

I've seen a couple of posts both mentioning a battery cycle count of 2. Would be curious to see some more people post that info. It seems like the refurbisher is a pretty professional operation and knows how to avoid errors, etc. I'm curious if they reset the battery cycle count to zero when they replace the battery. Did anyone get a phone with a high battery cycle count?

Do we need to "Submit" for the unlock? Or is it just done automatically in 60 days?

.
The parts / service history will only show parts replaced by Apple or ones that trigger an alert about being an aftermarket part. It seems that this refurbisher reprograms the boards in such a way that the phone does not register replaced parts in that menu. I haven't seen anyone mention seeing a replaced part that shows up there.
