Upgraded to iOS 15.2.1 and checked for Parts and Service History under Settings > General > About. As there was no Parts and Service History, the battery is not a replacement. Any battery replacement, whether genuine Apple or third-party, would show up in the history.
For XRs (unlike 12s or 13s), screen replacements will not show up in the history. A visual examination of my XR doesn't show any obvious evidence of screen replacement.
Posted by another user, FYI: For those who are wondering if you want to do a return, Yes you do have to pay return shipping if it was delivered to you. If you refuse the package you will not have to pay return shipping. For returning, USPS(Postal Service) First Class with tracking or Priority mail recommended but UPS and Fedex should work as well. (ALWAYS make sure you get tracking on your package or it can complicate your return and or cause a return to "have no evidence of arriving")

(Updated)Total Wireless/Tracfone brand Unlock Policy:
For Customers with Apple devices:
- TracFone will automatically unlock the device when it becomes eligible for unlocking.
- For all Apple devices activated with TracFone prior(Before) November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked after 12 months of active TracFone service.
- For Apple devices activated with new TracFone service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the device will be automatically unlocked 60 days after activation in the absence of an indication of fraud.
For Customers with non-Apple(ie: Google Android/other devices) devices
- TracFone will provide an unlocking code to customers who request unlocking, provided they meet the following conditions:
- If the TracFone device was activated with TracFone service prior to November 23, 2021, then the device must have been active on TracFone Service for no fewer than 12 months with Service Plans redeemed in no fewer than 12 months, and not have had their telephone number recycled or ported.
- If the TracFone device was activated with new service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, then at least 60 days must have elapsed since the device was activated.
- The device must be in working condition.
- The device has not been reported stolen or lost, and there are no indicators of fraud.
Deployed Military Personnel:
- If you are a TracFone customer in the military and receive relocation orders outside of the TracFone Coverage Area, we will unlock your device at your request, even during the applicable lock period following the activation of your device.
- All other eligibility criteria apply to TracFone's customers who are deployed military personnel.
- Customers are eligible for this program only once every twelve months.
**Note: Not every device unlocked from Tracfone/Tracfone brands are 100% compatible with other carriers(iPhones typically but not always being an exception). Make sure and check with people here and or Tracfone for info.

Well as per the new policy after take over from Verizon in November,Tracphone has updated its unlocking policy for apple devices to be 60 days post activation if activated after Nov 23rd-2021
That said,I have reached to multiple customer care rep and have even called and the fact that it gets unlocked after 60 days is something they all echoed but there was difference on if it active service or just first month of activation.There is no proven way until Jan 23rd to see when this first set of deals got launched to see how it goes.
The unlocking policy does mention it will automatically unlock after 60 days - But if some one or most of the folks trading in should not have a problem .If you plan to keep this phone for a longer run and use it I would activate the service for the second month to avoid any hassle in pushing Customer rep to unlock .As i did call out we will have to wait to see how it actually works.Its an additional $20-$22 to get some total wireless prepadi cards on sale or deals.
In the worst case if this not does not get honored we can still encash for trade in or other options to sell this for cash.
Any one with still having doubts on the unlock policy can contact customer care for their satisfaction before they jump in - however as i mentioned its more of waiting game as I did realize it was not consistent reply.

Here is what I am doing on Tracfone: I activated a new iPhone on a new account. I was offered basic plans during activation, so selected the 90 day/$19.99 plan with autorenew for $17.99 + tax. I then joined rewards with a referral and have 8,000 points pending. In 61 days, the points to vest and the phone will unlock. I will redeem the points for service on a different line, then port out the number before the autorenewal.
I also bought 2 XRs. One is intended as a backup/international travel phone. The other is meant for a family member who will likely use one of those cheap 360-day plans with minimal data. Haven't decided which. Total Wireless plans are just too expensive.

After changing agents 4 times, my refund request was successful, and they said that the reason my order was not being shipped was that there were currently no XRs left in the warehouse.
There is no set schedule for restocking, the only option is to wait indefinitely until it is restocked or to request a refund. (It can take up to 30 days to review a refund request. Gosh......)
.... I will never do business with TW again.
And you don't need to set to autorenew. I just did that to save some money when activating. Since you already have paid for the first month, you just need to pay for the second month until your points vest.

Vendors aren't supposed to charge until they ship but we all know that some do.
Rather than waste your time with TW, I would have just done a chargeback with your card company. You were charged for something, it was never shipped to you, end of story.

Something fishy. I received 2 phones last week that were ordered early last week. Hopefully they didn't oversold.
So I bought a cheap iPhone SE 2nd gen refurb when they were $100.
I misplaced that SIM card but I activated using the serial number of the SE.
it shows up in my account but since I don't have the sim, the status is: activation in progress
I activated it hoping it would start the 60 day timer but it seems it won't 'register' until I find that SIM card that came with the phone.
edit: refreshed just now and it no longer has the activation in progress. they even gave me a phone number

Also, did you have a 30-day starter plan attached to that phone whe you bought it. If so, did it automatically get applied when you activated via the eSIM instead of the physical SIM?
I had one order made Friday night "ship" on Saturday. It was more like label created but it was picked up by UPS today. My order from Sunday has not shipped out yet today. My order from last week shipped out next day. If it doesn't ship out tomorrow, then I would be a little worry that they maybe did run out of stock as reported by another poster.
They don't work Sundays but they seem to work Saturday because my order from Friday went into shipping at around 1PM Saturday.
