Yes, TW devices unlocks after 60 days. All Tracfone and related entities like TW and ST have the same unlocking policy.
Is the purchase of a second month required? Has anyone done the first 30 and waited out the next 30 to arrive at unlock? I just activated an XR today.

No confirmations if it unlocks without the second month yet, but we should start getting reports by the end of the month. So you should know well before your 30 days are up.

Anyone ported out TW number? I tried to jump in xfinity mobile BYOD, initially ported with IMEI as account #, 0000 as PIN, failed. Contacted XM, was told porting was blocked. Contacted TW, was told I need to text NPT to 611611 to get port out PIN. Did that, got PIN, contacted XM, gave them new PIN, porting still failed.

Did you use 0000 as PIN?

Did you insert your sim in any other phone? The account number can change. I had similar issue recently where my account number changed when I inserted the TW sim in another phone. The porting to visible was failing because of incorrect account number because I was entering IMEI of original iPhone that came with the SIM card, but for some reason that wasn't my account number. I had to chat with customer service and they confirmed my account number was the IMEI of other phone I was using. I tried that and number ported.

That could be the reason. I already traded in the XR, the SIM is in a different phone. Will try that.

Trying to port out to Visible, got the NT PIN from TW and double-checked the IMEI TW has on file by texting FOUR to 611611.

Submitted information to Visible but port isn't going through because they get an error message that there's Number Transfer Protection on my account and it needs to be turned off. There's nothing in my TW account about this so I chatted with a rep and they gave me a number to call with an access code. Called, on hold for 30 minutes, and got a rep who couldn't help me but was going to transfer me to someone who could help. Call got dropped during the transfer.

I found a number for the TW port specialists and asked for a callback. It was supposed to happen no later than half an hour ago but I'm still waiting.

Update: Visible rep gave me a different number for TW porting: 800-327-2077. Called and no hold time. TW rep had me request a new NTP which I provided to Visible rep. TW Rep stayed on the phone the entire time to see if it went through. Visible rep had to send the info to their port department and I have to wait for an email to see if the port goes through.

I think the zip code plays an important role for tw porting. Try use the zip code that you order the tw phone. So give Visible the whole info. Acct #, Pin#, Phone# and zip.

I gave Visible all that info - it turned out that TW needed to give me a new NTPIN because they kept issuing new ones without my request. Once they had the correct NTPIN, Visible put the port through and I got the email notice a couple of hours later.

I just ported over one of my XR's (I traded the actual phone into Game Stop) to xfinity for their 200 gift card offer. Perhaps with will help someone if you are trying to port out your number.

FOR TOTAL WIRELLESS Your account # is the IEMI the serial number for your phone on that account.
To get your NTP Pin Text NTP to 611611 from the phone you are trying to port over. Pease note that this takes a few minutes to respond. If you text it AGAIN it will generate different NTP you so you must use the last on they sent you. ALSO THEY ARE ONE OF THE ONLY CARRIERS WHERE YOUR ZIP CODE ON YOUR TW ACCOUNT MUST MATCH WHAT YOU GIVE THEM FOR THE PORT. This data point was especially revenant to me as I choose a zip outside of my actual number initially with TW to secure an out of state number. Little did know that they added this zip code to my account. As a result my first port failed. You can check your zip code by logging into the TW app or through a browser.

On a side note I am glad I dumped the XR's I wasn't using at Game Stop the value for the gift card is down to $194.00. If you have to dump them dump them now this is the second price drop this month

You can check the IMEI TW has on file by texting FOUR to 611611 - TW will text back the last four digits of the IMEI they have on file.

Even after I requested a NTPIN, TW texted me a different one unprompted when they confirmed receiving the port-out request from the new carrier. So the NTPIN I provided in my original port request became invalid.

FOR PORTING OUT OF TW In case you dumped your device you can also view your IEMI on the total wireless app under devices or click on the activate email you got when your order shipped. It will load the total wireless page with the IEMI already populated. Heck its probably in that email too I just never bothered checking

I just went through the TW->Visible circus. I gave VIsible the zip code that was used to generate the TW phone number, and NOT the billing/shipping zip code that was used when I ordered the phone. It's what all the agents I chatted with said to use.
