Great deal if Google Fi works for you and plan on keeping the connection for 4 months.

This would be have been an even better deal if Google Fi supported esim on these Samsung phones, but as far as I can tell it is not yet supported.

Nope wont work.

If the sim isnt in the s21, you dont get credit. They changed it to be active, meaning, you are actually using the account

You will instead lose the $400 savings and be charged that at 4 months. You will need to use fi for the 4 months.

Any trade in option to go with the deal?
not measurable. Even a pixel 4 only gets you $80, you can get more on ebay for it.

samsung released the update to enable it
True, and the big 3 support it. But my point was that Google Fi doesn't.

Depends.

If you are purely domestic, yes.

If you travel international, Fi is the best. You pay the same no matter which country. For folks who travel a lot, its a pain to buy local sim cards/swap in/pay premium. Fi works when the plane lands in >150 countries. I personally have used it over most of asia and europe without an issue.

Good to know Fi finally has deals of their own now. I used them for a few years when they were still Project Fi and had a great experience with them.

I think he (or she) is asking about the S21 phone deal that Visible also has going on. That deal is better if you can get it (it is out of stock at the moment). While Visible has unlimited data, it has no international calling when you are in USA and as you mentioned no roaming - so it wont work for everyone.

I don't think any MVNO has esim support. Blame the 'big three'
Mint has eSim.
So do Fi, In that case you could take Fi in eSim and shave a second provider in physical.

Hey, I am using Google Fi via eSim on S21 Ultra and my homie also using it on S21. Typing from that. Calling and 5G works fine, no issues. Also wifi calling works.

That's great to know 👍

This is the first time I heard that confirmed. Did you activate it straight from Google Fi app, or did you do something else?

Can someone help me with this? Does this work?
- Buy a (verizon) Port-in number on ebay for $20
- Buy the S21 for $400 and use that Port-In number to port to Fi.
- Activate the Phone with the fi sim and keep it a day and remove the fi sim
- Use my other working AT&T Pre-paid sim in S21 and use it
- Keep the Fi account active for 120 days (4 months)
Total Cost: 400 + 20 (Port-in) + 80 (4 months fi) : $500 for Unlocked Galaxy S21
It works but it's okay deal

Eh I wish I had gotten a different phone than Pixel 6, but now I'm too lazy to sell it and get a new one

Did a similar deal for S20 last year, have to keep the device on their network to meet the terms. There has been a few deals on S21 lately that were more attractive, unless you're on FI anyways.
I got that deal. I prefer the s20 over the s21. The s20 is the last galaxy S series phone that has an SD card storage expansion option. The s21 doesn't
