"The most magical thing just happened guys. Today I woke up to a "No SIM Restriction" on a Verizon iPhone 13. So they do definitely unlock it automatically on the 60th day. I still have the Verizon line but it's in a "voluntary suspended )$10 a month)" status because I wanted to make sure it would unlock and I still had a line (I don't think keeping a line is necessary btw, I was just being extra cautious). All good. Everything turned out ok to my surprise!"
SIM options
Tracfone: ATT, T-Mo, Verizon
Total Wireless: Verizon
Simple Mobile: T-Mobile
Net10: ATT(now removed), T-Mo, Verizon
Pageplus: Verizon
Walmart Family Mobile: T-Mo
Straight Talk: ATT, T-Mo, Verizon
I've been doing this a while and know the ins and outs of TFW. Verizon may or may not force all brands to their network at some point. They also may consolidate the brands, but that's the rundown.

I heard Apple is alot harder to do trade ins (hint needs to be oem everything)

But to port out of TW only the imei, iccid (sim card number) and TW PIN is needed then use the info at new carrier to input right?
I just activated a TW iPhone/SIM that I purchased in September of last year. It was just shy of 4 months from purchase date.
So NEW TW sim cards dont expire that fast but generally when exactly do they expire? I am thinking about saving the TW 11 sim to activate later in the future when port in deals come up.
What about used ones like in the xr, when they expire? Btw one of my TW XR sim cards have spam text from prev activation it seems.

I have no idea if they re-use SIM cards, or how long they'll last before expiring.
There are reports of people activating ~1 year after purchase, but I've never gone past 4 months myself.
just got my shipping confirmation, and phone IMEI.
thank you OP.
Traded 2 tracfone refurbished SE2 phones last month; no problem.
IMHO: its in Apple's interest to get rid of the old iPhones and replace them with Apple GCs, which translates to more sales of Apple products. A few years ago, you could go to the store and trade in multiple iPhones for GCs; don't think it hurt them at all.

And they just updated their unlocking policy:
If the device you receive is compatible with Verizon service, you just then have to activate with a $25 VW sim and phone unlocks after 60 days
except that Im positive that not all their phones are compatible (just yet) with VW, since TFW just joined the VW network šš
Refuse your package š¬ IDK
Sorry
Don't you have to maintain service for 60 days though?
Lmao. He wanted to use a new big word he just discovered
All should be cleared up after 1/23 when phones activated 11/23 become eligible, over that week things should become clearer.

This is the better deal because it's not a complete crapshoot if you decide to keep the phone. I ordered a whole bunch of those XR(traded all of them in) and there was huge variance. One of them was brand new, a few others had clearly had screens replaced and were out of warranty.
Obviously it doesnt make a difference if you are trading them in but if you do end up keeping one you would want to get the 11.
