If you buy a $25 refill card from Target, and use the Red Card, you will also get a 5% discount. And I believe there are no taxes on the $25 refill card either, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
That's what I'm seeing as well. Plus they're currently having a promo where the 2nd refill card would be 10% off so for those buying 2 and using their Redcard, total will be about $46 out the door.

I bought 2 x 11's and would get this but just waiting to see if the 2nd month payment will be necessary for the unlock, so holding off ATM.

Not true😝
I have a TF sim that's 1yr w/ 1.5 k txt and mns. that I often switch between my TF iPhone and TW Phone.
Or vice versa really, except that TW does not offer 1yr plans for $40-$50 like TF

Quote from munkle :
Verizon has never worked like this. I have used verizon, or a verizon mvno for over 10 years. Never ever had an issue swapping sims to phones that weren't the phone the sim was activated on. I manage my familys plan, so this is 6 lines over 10 years with most getting a new phone every 1 to 2 years.

The only thing verizon cares about is sim activation, they won't activate a sim unless you give them an imei whitelisted in their system. After that you can put the sim in any phone that is verizon compatible even if its not whitelisted in their system.

This hasn't happened in a while but where that issue came up is when the pixel 1 came out it was verizon compatible but verizon hadn't whitelisted imeis yet. So you could use your old sim just fine, but if you were signing up with verizon and didn't have an active sim they wouldn't activate a new sim with the imei of the pixel 1, you had to give them a different imei to activate the sim. Eventually they loaded the imeis into their system.

No confirmed reports if it's required yet.

Someone in this forum mentioned they had another 3-4 days to go and has not purchased 2nd month. Should be getting unlock confirmation soon.

Anyone else here has still not activated their phone? I got 2 phones, one of them I activated immediately. Was thinking to activate the 2nd one around when the 2 months end for first device.

Is there any max duration by when the device should be activated? Thanks in advance!

Do you have a link to that post or remember who it was? The earliest I've seem mentioned so far is the end of Feb.

I tried searching this thread, the other XR thread. Not sure where I read it.

One of the guys I could find was ShawnMagm, but like you said his 2 month is around end of Feb.

Yeah, Kousoku mentioned that he should know at the end of the month as well. My renewal date is coming up in a few days, so I'd love to see something sooner, but not going to hold my breath I guess. Edit: Looks like Kousoku paid for a second month of service, so he won't be answering that one.

Hopefully we will find out soon, my first month plan has just a week left. But I'm curious how does someone with inactive service to receive a text message that notifies the unlock status of the phone? Maybe thru the email?

They definitely wouldn't get a text and I doubt they'd receive any notification without active service. It would just get updated as unlocked and the user would need to know enough to check. They probably meant that user will give us confirmation once they figure it out.

This is what happened when I requested an unlock through the portal in early December 2021 for my SE 2020 and iPhone 6S Plus. To be clear, these were phones that had 12 months service satisfied under the old rules.

No confirmation email, no text, just kept periodically checking while connected to Wi-Fi and a few days later they were displaying "No SIM restrictions". Neither had active service nor SIM card inserted.

What my understanding is till you have TW/TF SIM inserted, carrier is able to send lock/unlock signals along with updating their database.

I was thinking of checking status from your TW account where it shows different devices you have or getting an email what we used during registration.

Worst case, calling up Customer service and checking the status, if you have not set up online account.

iPhone is auto-unlock. I suspect auto-unlock should mean that connection to wifi is sufficient. That said, that is if TF policy is to allow unlock without active service. My TF service ends on Feb 21, so I am very interested to know if active service is indeed necessary for unlock.
