"The most magical thing just happened guys. Today I woke up to a "No SIM Restriction" on a Verizon iPhone 13. So they do definitely unlock it automatically on the 60th day. I still have the Verizon line but it's in a "voluntary suspended )$10 a month)" status because I wanted to make sure it would unlock and I still had a line (I don't think keeping a line is necessary btw, I was just being extra cautious). All good. Everything turned out ok to my surprise!"

Also, you don't need to log into iCloud or set up a passcode / face ID. You can bypass both of those things in the setup process. (You just have to side-step with a couple of "I don't have one / skip this step / don't use" type of options.)
