Mostly because these suck. AMD's U series CPU's demolish, 1165g7's and the rest of the suite, especially in battery life
Really want AMD to invest in chip set to include USB4 or TB 3/4...

Would love the gram 17 or 16 with AMD 6000 series with rDNA graphics for 2022. Better thermals, IGPU no brainer... LG please....

Yeah, hopefully some will be able to package the new processor with better graphics and addition capabilities that resulted in higher TDP into an ultralight portable... Fingers crossed...

Speakers are weak in this model - 1.5W x 2. I compared this model 17Z95N with the older 17Z90N, and ended up keeping the 17Z90N because the 2w speakers sounded much better on the older model. This model 17Z90N has a slightly better cpu but not by much.

I don't know why this reads almost sarcastic? The new AMD 6000 series CPU's are even more efficient, they require less TDP to complete the same tasks..

AMD is rather efficient

Not intended, rooting for them as I have a 4700 and wanted TB3 bad. The new CPU looks good, but with the new graphics unit is rated 28 watt. Not sure if ultra lights like these laptop will have a solution to deal with the heat generation...

It is for "ideal" performance but it can absolutely scale well down low, as Ryzen has historically done very well. This is something Intel has struggled with heavily, they're finally getting good at with the introduction of 12th gen it seems. These 1165g7's and 5000 series U CPU's already boost to 28 watts when given the thermal headroom, and short term boost to 35w+.

Isn't this price reserved for laptops with GPUs? Why is this so expensive?

Should at least have the 1195g7… 1165g7 is at least four quadcore chips old and new Intel Alder Lake chips are right around the corner with much more cores and power. An i5 has 12 cores and 16 threads…

Just saying this is late in that processor life to buy it, let alone for a $1000…
1165g7 is enough to browse slickdeals and watch YouTube /Netflix

Why? Costco's warranty doesn't cover computers and laptops. I learned that the hard way. I bought this LG laptop at costco and it broke down, keyboard stopped working. Called costco and they said their warranty doesn't cover laptops and to call LG. LG's customer service was disappointing.
