Just applied and finally got approved for this card I've tried a few times before and been shot down.
I use the Citi double cash back so switching to this gives me 3% for the year and it opens up access to the chase travel portal, which I hear is great.
Idk if I'll spend 20k but I'll enjoy the cash back either way!

why is this better than Citi double cash card @ 2%?
or is it not?
Both are good cards but i love Chase transfer partners more so it's worth the chase points being 0.5% less.

You are going to get whatever it says on the link you use. You still get the 1.5% with the 5% cash back on groceries if you choose the Freedom Unlimited card. With the Flex card, you get 1% on everything and the rotating 5% categories every quarter. With 2 kids I love the 5% back on groceries (10% during the quarter that includes groceries for the Flex card)

I think you have to wait until it has been 4 years from date you got the bonus $200.

Depends on the categories you spend on. I rid myself from Chase and others that require specific categories years ago and am satisfied with the Citi card

I am an authorized user on my wife's chase freedom unlimited card. Can i still apply my own card and get the bonus? Or does she need to remove me from her card first?

nope it's definitely 2 years from when you got the bonus. You're confusing the bonus opportunites with the 5/24 rule thing.

So if I spend 20k, I get back $300. Sounds like a deal of a lifetime. It's funny to me how these banks try to make it seem like they are hooking you up by giving you these shitty cash back rewards. You get 1.5% back but they charge you 10% or higher in intrest. What a f-ing joke.

It's 30K UR points, which can be worth a lot more on travel if you have a Sapphire card. If someone is complaining about interest charges, they should look elsewhere. Credit card bonuses are for people who pay their statement in full each month.

I don't like this card, though others may like it - just my opinion. Mine may be a specific scenario but others can comment if they feel the same.

I tried to buy Apple products with the points I got and I saw that the MRP at which chase sells is 5-10% more than the deal you can get outside. So not sure how am benefited if I choose to buy apple products. Also the shipping time for either watch or iPhone is > 1 month min.

This is a terrible mindset. The US is pretty much the only country that gives you any kind of cash back/points for using a credit card. So $300 at minimum for 20k spend is much better than $0 for 20k spend.
Additionally, if you are paying interest of any kind, you really should be trying to minimize how much interest you are paying vs trying to get the most cash back.
