You have to apply for the card, not downgrade.
Last time they offered this, it was amazing for a high spender because there were no caps on the extra 1.5x. I convinced my brother to apply as a small business owner. He put something like $1M on it, so he earned 3 Million chase points, which he transferred through one of the premium cards over to Hyatt for a lot of very nice hotels on vacation.
or is it not?
Kinda? The extra cash back IS the signup. So if you were going to spend $20K, you get an additional $300 in cash back, on top of the $300 you'd normally get.

there is no separate 300 that you get on top of.
i would not count that as any meaningful SUB whatsoever, AT ALL. pretty shitty quite frankly.

$200 bonus plus 5% grocery store offer - up to $800 total cash back
Earn a $200 bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening
I'm confused - if applying directly from chase.com, it seems SUB $200 and the 5% grocery stores offer. But no mention about the extra 1.5%. Vice versa if use the link here it doesn't mention any SUB. So how can we or chase know what we can get?
