Looks like Amazon matched the Apple deal on this one.

For those that love the book and want to hear some great stories about production and some really funny stories from the actors, check out "As You Wish". This is one of the books I would recommend people listen to on audio rather than read. Probably available through your local library for free on Overdrive.

One of the best movies of all time in 4k and this cheap...?

Inconceivable!

Had to do it. 🤣
This is one of my litmus test movies that determine whether or not I can even be friends with someone. A "classic" seems inadequate to describe this film.

Amazon video titles never come with bonus features unless it says "with bonus features" in the title. Not all titles have both versions. But even if it does, it sells them separately and if you happen to fall on the non-bonus version, it doesn't tell you there's a version with bonus features. To illustrate, here's two separate versions of Frozen, one with and one w/o extras:

https://www.amazon.com/Frozen-Plu...deo&sr=1-5

https://www.amazon.com/Frozen-Kri...deo&sr=1-2

In Princess Bride's case (like a lot of the older titles), they don't sell a version with extras. Even if it did, I would choose iTunes or Vudu over Amazon because Amazon bonus features are tacked on at the end of the movie, not as separate videos (see the different run times of the two Frozen videos) . So you have to watch/fast fwd through the whole movie to access the extras. You also can't download just the movie if you own the bonus feature version because the extras are part of the file.

I don't have time for all that explanation. Should have summed up.

Sadly no, though not really sadly for me as I can't stand this film, but I would never buy a digital movie lol. I do collect physicals I just can't see paying for digital copies ever.

What!! How can you not like the Princess Bride????

First thing you will lose will be your feet below the ankles. Then your hands at the wrists. Next your nose.

The next thing you will lose will be your left eye followed by your right.

Your ears you keep and I'll tell you why. So that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish. Every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out, "Dear God! What is that thing," will echo in your perfect ears. I'll leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever.

Absolutely love this movie but I don't support companies that don't support movies anywhere
It's not about support. It's about fees/dollars.

That's not the whole story...you missed the 4K copy of Frozen.

$5 on iTunes right now

The Princess Bride by Rob Reiner https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie...d263952053

It looks like the iTunes $5 deal is no longer available. Apple probably saw the uptick in sales and shut down the deal. Currently $14.99 for SD and 4K. Bonus features for 4K only.

I'm only seeing this as the rental price. Was it supposed to be the purchase price? If so, deal is dead.

For those who want more behind the scenes look of the film, checkout the book "As you Wish - Inconceivable Tales from the making of The Princess Bride" in audiobook that features interviews and narration by the people who made the film like Cary Elwes, Rob Reiner, Robin Wright and Billy Crystal. Not part of the movie purchase but well worth it (or look for it at your local library).
Sounds wonderful. Unfortunately, my library doesn't have it on hoopla.

Amazon tells me I bought the Kindle version for $1.99 four years ago and forgot about it. laugh out loud It's now $12.99 [amazon.com].

Oh, I did find that the audiobook recording [hoopladigital.com] of the original novel was read by Rob Reiner. Oh, but it's only 2.5 hours. That must be greatly abridged from the ~400 page paperback that I loved and highly recommend.
