Samsung for:
- Brighter rooms
- Need for viewing at wide angles
- Better UI

Both are really good choices and I think it mostly comes down to the location you will put it in. Light in room, how far your seats are from the TV, what angle from the TV, etc.

I will continue to only buy samsung
Just not a lot of them do.
It's only natural to have failures tho. Samsung is a top seller. Mathematically they are more likely to have more failures

I have like 7 Samsungs in my house
Granted, all are top of the line, I bet cheaper models are more likely to die. But higher end models can die too
I am a believer that the Number one contributor to deaths of TV's is constantly moving. Ie. Get it toss in wall and never move it again. Short of a power surge should be fine
My friend kills TV's he rents and moves every year. Sucks for him. I mount them abs they just live forever
Problem is the OLEDs are more expensive and it's really hard to find any deals on them. Especially the larger sizes.

If you want a bright image that really pops, similar to my experience when I first got a plasma a long time ago, OLED is the way to go.

I also have a Samsung washer/dryer set from around 2007/2008 that's still going strong.
This was when flat panels were making an introduction into the world and I'm assuming better quality parts were used at that time.
However, just as any business model goes, max profit cut costs, I'd imagine Samsung quality took a hit over the years because people just started to buy for the brand.
Just my rant.
