All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Botched a family reunion today like nobody's business. I hate it when I do something stupid like that, makes me feel like such a novice. Smilie Did anyone ever find out if T salvages pet food if it's returned? If they do then I'll just donate it and chalk it up to lesson learned. Other than that was totally the windshield. Had very crappy cashier selection and the one I picked did really well. Not sure how she would have handled my autos (if I could get those right) but did well none the less.

Hate it when the relatives don't behave laugh out loud

I LOVE this idea:
This is from an article in the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday.
The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?"
I think this guy nailed it!
Dear Mr. President: Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.
You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:
There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the Following stipulations:
1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.
2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.
3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed. It can't get any easier than that!
If more money is needed, have all members of Congress and their constituents pay their taxes...

And since they're getting a million each they don't need SS (that's social security, not soft soap). SS fixed.

I heart this idea too! My dad was going to retire this year, but most of his retirement is gone. I wish I could do more to help him, but we are struggling ourselves!!

Alot of people have lost much of their retirement. I work with a few people who had to put their retirement off. I think mine is 'ok', or as ok as it can be. I kinda felt it coming awhile back and moved my funds into a safer account. Of course, it's government, and they can 'borrow' from our 'safe' account....so it's not really safe laugh out loud

Charlene Walls-Simpson is BRILLIANT! I hope Obama reads the paper.
Let's see, $50 million versus several hundred BILLION... seems like a no-brainer to me!
That would certainly put some cash to work in the economy! What the hell are seniors going to do with their lousy $250 checks the Gov't is giving them?? Are they really going to stimulate the economy with that?!?! Um, Nono. I think they might sock it away so they can pay for their next supply of prescription drugs or say something frivilous like maybe, I dunno, food?

audriannasmama's beat me to it. I think the article's math is skewed Confused 40 million at 1 million per retiree would cost 40 Trillion. The government had a $700 Billion bailout right? That would cover what-700,000 people at 1,000,000 (One million) per person? I do have a friggin wicked headache so my math may be WAYYYY off.
