This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Hey guys - anyone who has a few spare thoughts - our net door neighbor's son in in the hospital really sick with Swine Flu. It is crazy the kids all play in the back yards together and then all of a sudden he wasn't there and his Dad called me to warn me that he is in the hospital. He is on an oscillating ventillator and very ill - of course, I am watching my kiddos like a hawk .... but if you have any positive thoughts please send them his way!! HUGS HUGS HUGS HUGS HUGS HUGS
I thought the Swine Flu had pretty much played itself out, but then my co-workers mother got it a couple of weeks ago. She was in the hospital for over a week. I hope this little one will be ok, and hope all the other kids stay well hug

Where are you? I just heard on the news that it's really affecting more kids than adults and there was another case with a child in the hospital in WI.

So I've got these formula checks to trade (in my siggy below). I've not done a lot of trading on SD (except with you all Smilie). I'm pretty clueless about the various trading threads here.

Can anyone clue me in on where would be the best place to trade the checks? Are they considered "coupons"? (And so should be traded in the coupon trading thread?) I know there's a $5 limit in the other thread, so I guess that would mean I couldn't trade the $10 check. Any ideas? Thx!!

well, I am not an expert, but I would say it depends on what you are wanting to trade it for.. if you are wanting coupons in exchange, then I would check out the coupon trading forum.. but if not, then check out the other thread.. And as far as I am concerned, they should be treated like a coupon. I would think you should be able to trade a 10.00 one, since a 10.00 coupon can be traded... But a lot of times, my opinion doesn't reflect the opinion of the othersWink I have definitely seen formula checks offered in the coupon thread before though.

Ha!! We go to Grayton Beach SP every May for Mother's Day weekend! We were just there last month. That town you're thinking of is Seaside. Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Watercolors, etc. is all down for GB. GORGEOUS area. Their Publix is a coupon treasure since all the people are so rich, they couldn't care less about coupons. That's where I found the SCJ books Coverlaugh

you're right!!!! 6/30! Need to find out a reunion for 34000 now Whee
Oh that is an easy reunion...daddy was born and raised in Hershey, PA Wink5

I hope I got it right. At first she said one was a B2G1 but she didn't say which. Then I had her slow down and read them to me again. I am sure it won't matter too much though. Wink5 The booklet on the P&G website says "Save over $55." I think someone underestimated. Roll
You are right those are q's that have been in inserts in the past.

Thats right, Seaside...so nice. The homes are all Victorian and beautiful. We used to camp at Grayton Beach.

not yet, maybe tomorrow. My mail service sucks!

IMO, the best beaches are in the Panhandle. Alot less crowded, and so beautiful it's like being in the Carribean.
I was in Clearwater 2 years ago for a business conference. It was nice there.

Yeah I thought so too until they reported the first fatality in SD County last week. 20 yo, relatively healthy. Started feeling sick on Sunday went to ER on Monday and by Monday evening she died. Bigeye

So there were no such thing as formula checks when my kids were babies. Exactly what are they, and where do they come from?

They are basically coupons good on formula, except that they don't have barcodes on them. Instead they are actual checks, made out to you (the person to whom they are mailed) and you then take them to the store and apply them to your purchase of formula. You use them "like" a coupon. Of course, the good news is that if you happen to HAVE a MQ on the formula, you can use that as well.

You get them from the formula companies, for signing up for their mailing lists.

They're very similar to regular MFQs -- and produce the same end result -- but the retailer processes it like a check wrt payment instead of like a MFQ. They come directly from the manufacturer, usually when you sign up with them online. They can be pretty high value, too, upwards of $5-10 per check. And the best part is, since they're *not* considered a MFQ, you can combine them w/a regular MFQ for even cheaper formula.

Ran into 7-11 which I normally don't do and at the register saw a little hang thing with a
B2G1 Snickers bars.
I know yesterday you all were talking about 7-11 runs, so now is the time to make a few. Secret They are in the 40000 family. Oh and they are 16s.

I just got some of those off the bay. Just a little concerned about the short barcodes, though.

Got some Clorox Greenworks 16s too. So any reunion suggestions for that Q?

Ok, any recommendations from you FL peeps about which beach area would be best to take DD? We were thinking of going to Key West, but remember the beaches not being the best. We are thinking of somewhere in the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami/Keys area... Thanks!

I didn't notice the barcode but will check tomorrow, they are down in the car.

I don't know too much about that Q, but awhile back I had some Clorox Qs that worked well at Kmart. I got a few of the Wand systems that have the canister to hide the wand. You would have to check the price at Target though as they were $11.99 at kmart. That is not a good price, but again its Kmart so its marked up 300%.
