This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

DS (2.5yo) was at the post office with DH last week when a classic car pulled into the parking lot, apparently a convertible. The driver got out and DS pointed at him and said loudly "cool car". Apparently DH and the guy were laughing for 10 minutes

Tips for outside when raining-we have still been letting him go out. We wipe the swing with a towel and let him go at it. He loves it. We put a pile of leaves at the bottom of the slide so even if the slide is slippery (he likes it better that way), he's going nowhere. We also just had him sit outside under an umbrella in a chair or the hammock and read books and watch it. More entertaining than being inside.

Or you can get in the car and go to the library. He's been going a few times a week now that his classes are over for the summer. They always have kids stuff going on or worse case they can sit there with other kids and do puzzles and games.

When does the reach supersaver end at WAGS? Is it today or Friday?

Sharon, mamatwins and all who sent me gauze coupons:

You should see my pile now. Thanks so much for sending them over when I know you can use them for overage/free stuff elsewhere. I easily have 6 months supply now and still have some left to buy more.

Thanks everyone for the wishes. You know, having mom/MIL in the house for what will be about a month now, definitely has its advantages...and some disadvantages too Evillaugh

Is anyone familiar with water leaking into a basement? There is a very small amount of moisture leaking into an unfinished room in our basement after the record rainfalls we had a few days ago. I bought and hooked up a dehumidifier in the basement and it definitely seems to be removing the water. I would really like to avoid calling someone in who is going to try and sell me something absurd like complete waterproofing....

You need to figure out where the leak is originating or you can have serious mold issues later on. Depending on where it's from will depend on how you fix it. A rerouted gutter, fixing a piece of siding--totally depends. Is your DH handy?

I think Ariel likes Dr. Pepper, which reminds me that we haven't seen her on here for awhile...
Hope she is doing well.

Glad to have been able to help Smilie

I brought a whole bunch of the 4x4 gauze pads over to my mom who uses a box every three days and she was like, "How did you get all these?" I said, "Magic" Big Grin

If my MIL came over for that long the house might actually be clean! However, if it were my own mother, the house would definately not be clean... There would be too much blood on the carpet and walls from me shooting myself! EEK!

Yeah, actually it is probably from the position of our gutter. Now that you mention it, that sounds like a definite possibility! From what people have been saying, it is very common for water to get into basements here in MI. Hmm. As for DH being handy, yeah he can hammer a nail in straight. That's about it Rofl2

Rofl2 That is the funniest thing I have ever read!! You have to write that story in her baby book! Do people still do baby books or am I just old fashioned?

Yes! I am working on one now. My mom got it for me; I'd probably never have spent this much, but it's actually really cool. You can check it out at http://www.bigdaybooks.com
Instead of writing everything out, you type the info into a web form, save as a pdf, then print it out on fancy paper which is what you actually "buy" from them, along with the cover for the book. It's sooooo much easier (for me) than handwriting everything (plus I have really bad handwriting-- this way it all looks neat). Anyway, preggo ladies out there might want to register for one. They have a lot of really pretty cover designs you can choose from.

also check the grading against your foundation. should be sloping down away from your house. also rodents and other critters might have burrowed against the foundation and then water goes down the holes. do your gutters have splash blocks? sometimes that is not enough and you should add gutter extenders.
