This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

okay, I was wondering if anyone here has ever had this happen. [snip] so, now I am mad cause not only am I out 8.00 in coupons, but I paid 8.00 for nothing.. but my question is, when I go back this weekend,, I really have no proof of what the charge was.. and I hate to call attention to my receipt, but we are talking 16.00!!
I am sorry! I have not had this exact thing happen - but I have had them ring up more of an item then I have ie I bought 4 but they charged me for 5 and then they charged me for something that I didn't even get???? Maybe it was a coupon that worked backwards, but when I left the other day I went over my receipt and saw I had been charged once too many for an item AND there was some item on there I never bought??? I went through every item in my bag and there was nothing there that I didn't purchase and didn't match up ... so I have NO idea what that was??? Since the difference was about $12 I decided to leave it especially as I had NOT had to have an argument about valid coupons this time which was so nice! I will be watching more carefully next time!!!

WTheck - I would NOT say that Obama is a stupid man - in fact he is a highly educated and articulate man as far as I have seen. I realize that he does not have a good grasp of economics or finance ---- but WHY OH WHY can he NOT surround himself with folks WHO DO understand this?!?!?!? They couldn't even leave in the potential safety measures that were proposed such as "If there is over a 10% increase in the price of electricity this year, If gas hits more than $5/gallon" and there was one more I can't remember. SIGH!

Watch out - soon there will be a propsal for a regulatory commission to monitor/approve our shopping Frown

I can't think of any good reason to use petroleum jelly, *snip*
i have very dry shins, esp in the winter. i use vaseline when all else fails. it's the best. i put it on at nite b/c it's kinda sticky.

my friend used to waterproof her kid's butt at nite w/ vaseline so she wouldn't get diaper rash.

she knows another family who uses vaseline as moisturizer and she says they have the best skin.

we use vaseline around here all the time Evillaugh

No, I mean I use it as chapstick for DS, any sort of skin irritation not needing medicine in it...you name it. My son's skin is so sensitive that other stuff seems to add to the problems. nod

I would imagine it is extremely hard to get out of hair! GL mama... Grouphug

I was joking when I said it, because I expected someone to reply with a comment about sex. Coverlaugh But in all honestly, I don't use petroleum products - they're toxic. There's a product I got for 90% off when CVS was going through major renovations, years ago. Never tried it, but was keeping it for just-in-case - I just looked and I no longer have any; my friend's nice is allergic to petroleum products, so she probably took them. It's called Un-Petroleum [unpetroleum.com].

With that said, I still enjoy the hell out the smell of gas at the pump. Blush

probably didn't occur to anybody b/c they all have a huge stash of durex products, haha!

i think it's the petroleum solvents like gasoline, turpentine, mineral spirits, etc. that are toxic. of course petroleum jelly shouldn't be used around latex, but that's the only negative i know about.

so yesterday i made an excel spreadsheet of the ingredients of five products i thought i was allergic to. among other things, i cannot use conc dawn or palmolive. i get extremely itchy red dots on the back of my hands that eventually bleed from the scratching and can keep me up at nite. 4 of the 5 have *methylisothiazolinone*, whatever the heck that is.

but why doesn't one of them not have it? it's a softsoap product. so far i'm not allergic to any other softsoap. in fact, in a pinch, i'll use it to wash my face which can be sensitive. so i'm thinking to try using the odd one out again to see if i have a reaction. but who wants to take the chance of staying up at night scratching?

that just made my morning LMAO

I just got a STACK of Kraft Qs that involve meat purchases from Publix. Of course the Qs are coded for Kraft...Whistling

Man... I wish we had a Publix. I wonder if a writing/email campaign would convince them to throw a store up in Knoxville!!

Had a good run today overall. I was denied the use of the Taylor Farms bagged veggie coupons on the bagged salad. ??? I thought lettuce was a vegetable.

Also, I had picked up 3 of the tiny Edy's - one for myself, and one each for my DDs. It beeped, of course, and the lady said it wasn't for that kind, but (the weird kicker) she could take one of them.

Ohhhkayyyy.... Went to CS, and they gave me back the 2.00 for the Edy's, but still denied the veggie coupon. *shrug*

Youngest DD shocked me today. Totally content and wonderful in the store - in spite of not havng had a nap. I'm wondering if we're turning a new corner. (though, I'm not sure I'm ready to give up the naps.)
