That sucks the pull ups and easy ups do not work too well. I've gotta a couple of packs of those. I also found out the swimming diapers don't hold very well either!! I had DD in a swim diaper (Huggies brand) to run around a water fountain playground thing at the local zoo which she did not want to do and so we left and I kept her in the diaper since she didn't get wet. Drove out to meet my sister for lunch and when we finished lunch I went to pick DD up from the high chair and her bottoms were soaked! vomit So I quickly went to change her diaper to a regular one, but would have thought the swim diaper would have held something? Dontknow First experience with disposable swim diapers...I had always used the washable ones - but had some left over from when we went to the Keys...

Cherry, the newest super target I have been to (Roswell Super T in ATL) has those plastic carts. I like them, they just seem smaller when I am trying to get my 3yo in sit in the back part lol...I wish T had the double seater top buggy....I hate that double cart they have, feel like I should be pushing a pallet of wood on it, it is so big...ugh

Anyway just dropped the kiddos at their dads for the w/e. I am sad, this is the first time i have EVER been away from them (they are 3 & 2) nice to have some alone time, but I can't enjoy it cause I miss them too dang much...

They dont have any of the gel in them (so they wont swell in water) basically all they do is keep their butt covered. They arent ment to hold anything. I still use the washable ones and the boys have pretty much went to trunks now...

hug Aw, first time away from your kiddos? That's hard. Comfort

Ah, I guess that makes sense with the swim diapers. I didn't look at it that way...I just assumed they were a thinner version of a regular diaper. Big Grin

Comfort the first time is the hardest thing....try to take some time for yourself to go shopping alone, take a long bath, watch a movie...just enjoy the time for yourself hug

Speaking of getting clothes dirty, DS peed through his awful pull ups again today into his orange shorts. Must go wash them so he can wear them again. He is in love with the color orange. Have I mentioned I hate pull ups/easy ups? They all suck.
Have you tried buying those diaper inserts (sort of like a maxi pad looking deali-o) to add into his pull up to help absorb..? A lot of times pull ups leak when the pee is just rushing too fast, if that makes sense.. laugh out loud It doesn't get absorbed quickly enough because it's being expelled so fast. Maybe more absorption would help you out. Also, can he wear the next size up..? Sometimes that will help with more room for absorption, too. We're using the regular Huggies pull ups during the day and the Huggies overnights at night. I rarely have a leak. (I hate the Pampers Easy Ups, so I don't use those things at all.. Mad ) I have some of the Walgreens and CVS brand pull ups, but I will only use those when we are at home and I can keep an eye on when they need changing - because they are not as good quality as the name brands. I only have them because they were free.. laugh out loud

The swimming diapers are not really that absorbant at all. EEK! They essentially just seem to hold the pee and poop in using the leg elastics.. so I always tell everyone I know never to use them outside of water 'cause they just don't work well. But in water it's nice that they don't swell to the size of a basketball, though..laugh out loud

I'm considering moving to cloth pants and a vinyl cover for my daughter. She is so totally uninterested in potty training.. wondering if actually feeling wet, clammy clothes might motivate her. EEK! I'm out of other ideas!

Thanks, Teri! That was from today at the zoo. I love watching the growth of the SD babies, too! It's so neat to see how fast these kiddos grow up!

Teehee I learned that one the hard way with the swim diapers! Doh

You know, someone was telling me that it's a good way to get them to want to learn potty training as that feeling of the wetness would feel icky for them. The problem with the disposable diapers is that they work too well (keeping the kids dry even when they've gone and so they don't know that "wet" feeling)!

Another piece of advice I've been given is to let the child run around naked (no bottoms) for a long weekend and they'll understand what it means when they've gone and so will learn to go to the potty. Dontknow if they'll work, but it's worth a try!! Only problem is cleaning up after them once they've gone...and I've got carpets. Scratchchin

I did this to my DS when we potty trained him... those potty training diapers didn't work for him and this worked very well. He seems to get scared to pee because he is not wearing something and did actually learn how to say that he had to go laugh out loud The only downside was he accidentally did it once on our carpet and I had to clean up after that one. Thank good for a steam cleaner Embarrassment

The kid is potty trained for pee but when we are running errands he still uses the diaper. Also when we are at someone else's house or one of his playgroups (for now). He's in the biggest size they make so no options there. I could do an insert but honestly, I think the peeing through and being a bit uncomfortable is always the added incentive to keep going on the PT. He's doing really well with it, he always wants to go potty instead of diaper but when we are in the car it's not realistic

Oh btw, he's announcing his gas now. Fart and Burp. Then smile. Said it to a lady yesterday, I wanted to crawl into a hole. Luckily she thought it was cute.

I was going to post that the purpose of the swim diapers is just to keep the poop from floating in the pool. But I see most of the chat moms beat me too it. The new pic is adorable. She is such a cutie!!!
