Hi, popping in to chat. Can anyone recommend a good product for exzema/dry skin rash? I've tried Aquaphor and Aveeno cream and it doesn't seem to be getting better. It is worse behind the knees and at the bend of the arms.

Ask for a prescription for Elidel, works wonders on all rashes and a little goes a very long way.
My son has the same problem, same places. Non-RX creams just didn't do much for him. We used Elidel in the past but the pediatrician won't prescribe it now that it has a Black Box warning from the FDA. [webmd.com] We have had good luck with Rx Desonide and also a new one called Mimyx.

Elidel actually made mine spread Bigeye Now, I sparingly use a steroid cream when it flares up. The regular Aquafor in the round tub didn't do anything for me. I ended finding the regular hand and body lotion with the blue top worked better for mine.

it's miserable-hope you find a solution hug

Oh my goodness, I am struggling with the same exact thing with my DD right now. Both knees and one arm are very bad. And I too have been using the aveno and aquaphor. Usually the aquaphor works, but so far it isn't helping this time. My hubby just told me last night that I needed to take her to the doctor. SHe has a checkup next week, so if it isn't better I will show it to them then.
Are you using the Aveeno Eczema Care [realself.com]? That worked well with my youngest. Although both of my boys had times when only a rx steroid cream worked. Both of them seem to have outgrown it (youngest is almost 3) which I think is common.

Sorry, went out for a bit.

Thanks for the suggestions about the rash. This is for my 2-yr old. Our doc has suggested less baths, less soap, frequent lotion and testing for food allergies - milk specifically. We go next week for a regular check-up and will likely get a prescription for something. Summertime in GA usally clears it up with the crazy humidity. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to slow her down much Smilie

Wave Hi all ~ I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but I know a lot of you here have wee ones, so passing along:

Luv n' care company recalls three teething products found by FDA to contain bacteria
by Plain Dealer staff
Tuesday July 21, 2009, 2:25 PM
A Louisiana company announced a nationwide recall of three of its teethers sold under the brand names Nuby Gel Filled, Cottontails and Playskool.

Luv n' care recalled the teethers after learning that the gel in samples collected by the Food and Drug Administration contained Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus circulans. The bacteria generally do not cause illness but can cause stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea in children with weakened immune systems -- if the teether is punctured and the liquid is ingested.

The products were sold nationwide in stores and on the Internet. They are packaged in a plastic bubble on a printed card and can be identified by their Universal Product Codes, which you can find at urlhasbeenblocked.com/nlo47.

If you have a teether with any of the listed UPCs, immediately stop using them and discard them or return them to the place of purchase.

sorry about your dayhug
I know exactly how you feel. As I mentioned before, it never really matters about the sleep deprivation for us, it is just hard for a kid to be expected to sleep in a strange place hooked up to wires... not to mention the anxiety over having the test/being at the doctor. I was so stressed after our first test that I thought I would never make it again, but each one has gotten easier for us.. of course, my son has gotten older as well and I am sure that helps.
BTW, a friend of mine has a son who has the same issue, she now takes him in the evening and they hook him up and he returns home with the equipment. He sleeps in his own bed all night and the next day they go back to the doctor and turn in the stuff.

The double packs of lysol wipes are back up to their reg price of $10.89 Mad If someone has any good replacement ideas that are cheaper, can you drop me a PM?

I'm busy this week, but I need to run to T this week to pick up some resolve (I go through that stuff like crazy Whistling) and I want to get my Qs squared away for my run...

My nieighbor's son used to have exzema and she said they tried all sorts of prescription/nonprescription meds and the only thing that ended up working was her Arbonne cream. Might be worth a try!

Have you tried Eucerin? And cutting out all the fragranced products if you haven't already?

And if you don't mind putting a little more $$ into it, there's a product line called Vanicream that they sell from behind the pharmacy counter at T that is completely and totally free of all known allergenic chemicals and fragrances. Here's the website. http://www.vanicream.com/ The pharmacist told me that they have been asked to keep a constant stock of this stuff because it works so well. I know it's helping ds. The shampoo is about $8 a bottle! EEK! But that's where gc's come in handy! Cool

That sounds delightful. And barfing on a bridge, where ya can't just pull over/exit is sad but kinda humorous, too (as long as it's anyone else and not me...now where's that wood?).

BTW, thanks for the 1K!!!! heart
