This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Teri, so sorry about your situation.. Frown I hope their families find some peace.. it's hard to reconcile loss of a loved one at any age, but it seems to be even harder when they're lost at a young age.

SB, I hope the baby sleeps for you again. I did exactly what you are doing right now with both my kids. It was hard - my daughter would cry and cry. I would wait about 15 minutes, go check on her, lay her down, pat her on the back and give her her blanket. She'd still be crying when I headed out of the room. Then, I would wait another 20-25 minutes and do the same thing. She would do this for 2 hours. EEK! Man, she was stubborn! But she finally began to realize after a short while that I was just next door and would check on her. Now, both of my kids are great sleepers. I hope he is just as good for you tonight, but hang in there! Smilie

I hope all the young'uns 'round here are feeling better now..! We are on day 6 after my daughter's surgery, and she is back to her old self now.. we are blessed that it all went smoothly. I hope to NEVER have to do it again. EEK!

I hope your DD feels better Sun!

SB- I feel for ya! My dd slept through the night since she was born and still does as of now at age 5. I did have to watch a little one overnights for a while and he was NOT fun! So exhausting that I told his parents I could not watch him anymore. Thankfully the mother was able to get her shifts changed.

SB-we were very big on cry it out early on. We never had an issue with his sleep and we do think it's because of it. He's been sleeping through the night since almost 3 months old. We started cry it out around 5 months. We found the FP aquarium to be fantastic because he soothes himself back to sleep with music. Once you can put other stuff in the crib when the baby is a year, that helps as well. Sometimes he just sits there and plays with his animals and cars until he falls back to sleep. It's an extremely rare occurrence that he'd cry out for us now since he's been self soothing for so long. When he does, we would go immediately as we know it's important and he knows that.

That's one of the reasons we are waiting as close to age 3 as possible for toddler bed transition. Pedi says less likely to wake up and wander in middle of night. We want no sleep interruptions, we are used to his straight 12 hours!
