All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

LOL guess I should have added that I'm 6 ft tall, dh is 6'2. Very unlikely we would have small kids.

How to get them to eat veggies- keep offering? I dunno, I have two picky eaters and two not so picky eaters. The toddler will eat any vegetable you offer him, refuses fruit. 7 yr old refuses to eat any veggies, will eat apples and bananas only. Oldest child won't eat meat except chicken, second oldest will try about anything you offer. She loves sushi. LMAO But I keep offering variety hoping to change things up a little.

Teri, glad you made it home. What a nightmare!! I feel for ya, to go anywhere except Target and a few grocery stores I have to brave I95 and I'm on the outskirts of DC. I loathe I95 with a special kind of passion. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

So I'm back and no way I'm fully catching up since you guys were chatty. Some traveling observations

observation 1: food is expensive in real life

So food is expensive. We don't eat out. Ever. Maybe a random stop on weekends when running errands but very rare. We like to save our bucks. I do eat out when I travel on business but honestly I don't look at the prices. When we were away these past few days holy shell shock, eating out is pricey. No wonder we never do it. So for 2 lunches we stopped at grocery stores and I found 2 booklets, one is the FFS one you are all talking about. Then there was a nabisco one with another rebate in it. Then there was a kingsford one with a b2 dixie napkins, get a free kc masterpiece, coded for dixie. oh and weird lipton peelies but they are 01's.

No targets within 45 min but did stop on way back. Still found a few random hidden toys but mostly cleaned out at this point. Boy am I glad spike is back though, the kid likes watching him. He didn't miss him being gone but likes that he's back. I don't take DS often but when I do, I need some entertainment.

observation 2: don't travel with a 2yo in a hotel unless you're getting a suite

honestly, we didn't think about it but what the heck do you do once he goes to sleep? We planned on pay per view which is exciting for us (we don't have cable/satellite tv) but wound up falling asleep both nights. We would have had more fun if we had a suite. But we won't be traveling again anytime soon with him due to

observation 3: if you plan a trip, your child will get sick
This one is the most obvious but of course was harder for us with managing his diabetes on the road. He seems to have picked up another bug. A stomach one. Cleaned up number 2 everywhere twice today. Lucky the other times it was in his diaper. He's not really wearing diapers all the time anymore since he's trained for pee but not for poop. Guess we'll be leaving them on more often.

observation 4: know your backup plan
We found a bunch of parks and that was our outlet for him. Last night there was an adorable little girl at the one we went to after dinner. He is in love with her. He just said her name again before he went to sleep before. he counted for her as she went down the slide. Today we took him to this really awesome one. Was nice for us since when he's happy, we are happy. Just remember to bring purell from your stockpile. As we were walking into one, there was a preppy lil boy peeing in sandbox.

Tata for now.

Sun-we bury them under the cheese in pizza. We use whole wheat crust, lowfat cheese and bury broccoli (pureed) or spinach under it. 3x a week or so. Works for us.

I agree with setsail... just keep offering it. Since he was on table food we have always served DS whatever we are eating. I just usually make sure he has a side on his plate that I KNOW he will eat. Sometimes he'll try something new, sometimes he'll tell me it's "gross". Whatever. I try not to worry about it. Kids are so weird. We were out somewhere and I had a big salad and he scooted over near me and wanted to try some. So I let him take whatever he wanted and he ate a ton of it. About a month later I offer him some salad and he tells me he doesn't like that. I just continue to offer a variety of healthy options and I'm 100% sure he won't starve. Smilie

:BTW if y'all are starting to guess on the weight, Mini was a little thing only 6 lbs 3 oz but she was 20" AND 2 weeks early. Bigeye My mom was surprised at how well she was filled out.
They do grow well even when little - my girlie who was 2 weeks late was only 5 pounds at birth - imagine how small she might have been if she had come on time! She actually fit in dolls clothes LOL I am still betting on 7lb 7oz for the weight Smilie

WOW - that is TINY!!!! It is amazing how big they get. A friend of mine had a little one who came 3 months early and was not even 3 pounds .... and now 6 years later you would never know - she is an amazing beautiful feisty six year old girl with a sixteen year old attitude! LOL

LOL - you should have big kiddos!

And you must be talking about my kids! My oldest won't eat heavily processed food (mac-n-cheese, cheese slices, spaghetti'os or chicken/turkey/ham/pork... his fav food is sushi or Peruvian or Arabic food.) My second oldest weighs NOTHING she is a pixie and wants to live on Snickers Bars, soda and chips ... the more processed the better! My third one will eat meat and standard kiddo food (PB sandwich no crust, mac-n-cheese, bananas, apples, grapes, green beans etc.) but the texture MUST be smooth .... no nuts/chips/grit/bumps/toughness in food he is VERY difficult to feed and probably the most dense in mass Wink My lil girl who just turned 2 will eat almost ANYTHING and my lil one who just turned 1 will eat about anything - but is limited by the fact she has no teeth ... when she gets teeth she will eat the world! LOL

We should get our kiddos together and they can have a picnic LOL

Riddle:

A woman is shopping in TJ Maxx when an off duty cop recognizes her as a wanted criminal. He chases her down in the parking lot, but she gets away. He calls for back up and chases her onto the highway, where she is weaving in and out of traffic hitting cars as she goes. Suddenly, another cop cuts her off from ahead and tells her to get out of the car, but...instead, she tries to run him over. So, he shoots her.

One highway over, VP Biden is driving up the highway from his vacation at Kiawah Island, so traffic is blocked and heavy, at a dead standstill.

The next highway over where the lady has been shot is totally blocked off and the only other way home is the highway VP Biden is on.

How long did it take Teri to get home from work today??? Annoyed
EEK! Wow! And I thought I had bad luck! One time W was in Ohio and I was the last car NOT to make it through the blockade to let the motorcade through! I just sat on the freeway for an hour stopped! I almost got caught in Obama's motorcade when he was just at the Cleveland Clinic but just made it luckily.

What's that book that's out that basically has you mix in veggies in stuff they like so they don't even know they're eating veggies? Ha, very helpful I know! I'm sure someone else will know what I'm talking about.

And for those of you "going to hell" I used this [chtah.com] coupon today at JCP. And I paid cash. Not as good as $10/$10, but in Thrifty's case it should've worked anyways. Or maybe they would've made you get something for $1 Dontknow

So guess what I found tonight? More Kleenex size 01's! woot So I now have 2 of the hottest coupons out there to trade! But for what...??? I'm coming up empty? Do I really want more Cesar b2g1s???

Oh and be sure to sign up for this Nestle Calendarwith $20 in coupons.

I did see the Nabisco bus at my grocery store finally but no coupon booklets! So either someone beat me to them or they haven't put them out yet. But whatever, they didn't beat me to the Kleenex q's!

Anyone else having issues with 01's at K? I heard another report of them beeping, wasn't it Ariel who had that too?

"They" say you have to introduce a child to a new food 10+ times before they will give in.

I have found this to be close to the truth, DS#2 is the worlds pickiest eater, but since tring the 10x thing he now eats chicken nuggets, fish sticks, Tomato soup. But beyond that I have just given up on him.

My rule: You eat what I cook or sit at the table quietly with the plate in front of you while the rest of the family eats. If you chose not to eat that is fine but no dinner = no dessert.

I like to use that to my advantage if I cook something that one of them doesnt like for dinner, I try to cook something they DONT like for breakfast and ever meal after that that they dont eat just so they get hungry enough to give in and eat what I have made. It totally works, a child wont let himself starve...they DO give in & I win Stick Out Tongue And now there is one less meal for the hater to complain about Big Grin

I was raised by being forced to eat and I have major eating issues! So I dont force them to eat anything...thats not saying I wont bribe them to try it though laugh out loud

Jerry Seinfeld's wife wrote the book. She pureees all her veggies and adds them to her recipes.

Good way to get them thier need vitamins and nutrients but it's not actually teaching them to eat thier veggies.

I LOVE this! I have the no dinner = no dessert - but I like the making something they don't really like for the next few meals .... may pilfer that idea ... and yeah I am careful not to turn the food into a fight as I have a totally unhealthy relationship with food thanks M&D for having me spend HOURS & HOURS falling asleep at the counter in the kitchen not being able to leave until I ate all my food!

Anyway - I really like your idea! THANKS!!!
