Rylen was up over 17 at one point, so you have NOTHING to worry about (in my humble, non-medical-professional opinion). I'd be surprised if they keep him much longer, or even use the lights. My guess would be they want to make sure it isn't rising dramatically.
Poor newborns...thrust out of someplace warm and cozy into a bright, cold world where everyone is either poking you, picking you up, holding you, or talking to you in some idiotic voice...

And IANAA I want to thank you & everyone else for their advice & positive thoughts! I carpeted the town I live in with Posters featuring a full color picture of Conner and signs and fliers in all the local businesses that would let me and at the library as well. I stood downtown and handed out fliers to everyone walking by and cars stopped at the traffic light letting them all know that I had filed a stolen dog report & my kiddos were heartbroken!!! I put up an ad on Craigslist and let everyone I could know - all the nieghbors, the paper boy, the mailman (and mailwoman cuz they alternate) ..... AND IT PAID OFF!!!!!!!!
I got a call from some lady saying that Conner was sitting next to the library which is just a few blocks from our house. Now, I do not believe for one minute that he has been running wild all this time and just decided to come and sit at the library because he was only a little dirty AND wasn't even hungry when he got home (and he is a FOOOOOOOD hound!) so someone had him and was looking after him ...... but WHATEVER WHO CARES we got our dog back!!!! To be honest, if I KNEW who had taken him I would still press charges to keep them from doing it again, but I don't know who did it and the lady who called had him with her kids and I don't think it was her .... could have been but .... who knows! The most important thing is WE GOT HIM BACK!!!!!
I am sure it would have been near impossible for anyone to keep him in this town though because there just aren't a lot of shelties around that are that color and I think with all the publicity it would have just been too problematic! THANK YOU GUYS!!! YOU ROCK & we have our Conner back!!!!!
