When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

nod Me too. I'm so happy for you Dec12! Yahoo!

Ok, to say I have a lot of Kleenex 01 coupons is an underexaggeration. There was a new display at my Kmart tonight and the tearpad was sitting on top of the box and somehow it followed me home! Whistling Would love to trade some for other goodies. I added some new ISOs to my sig.

There are some good TQs in the new RP, which I got today:
$1.50 off Tide Stain Release
$1 off Tide
$1.50 off Bounce Dryer Bar (combine with Vocalpoint q's and I think they are close to free)
$1 off Swiffer Starter Kit
$1 off Febreze Home Collections
$1 off 6 roll or larger Bounty
$2 off with purchase of Pampers 180 ct or larger wipes and diapers/training pants

And Yahoo! for going home today Thrifty!

And here's what I have learned about Kmart 01's:
If you buy 2 items from the same family that are the exact same price, it will bring up the pop up box, ask which item the coupon is for, then autodeduct the price.
If you buy 2 items from the same family are different prices, it will ask the cashier to enter the price and THEN pick the box the coupon is for.
Nice coupons in the RP Thanks!

Good info on the 01's Evil

Hi everyone! I just got home from taking my college entrance exams and Yahoo! I've still got it! I was so worried since it's been a while since I've been in school and I was afraid to see how badly I would do. Took the test (what adult needs to multiply and divide fractions without a calculator anymore!!??) and ended up in the 95% percentile!

Everything looks good for my start in October. I had to share with someone since I'm flying around on an adrenaline high right now!

It took me a while to decide - I technically have a year left of my nursing degree, but I have really always liked working with animals better than people (go figure!) so I decided to start with veterinary technology, and work from there into veterinary radiology and who knows? Maybe someday vet school. Big Grin

It's strange to be thinking that my 15 year old and I will be studying together, but I'm excited about going back. I'm 33, so it's kind of a now or never thing for me. laugh out loud I just hope my luck holds for the next few years of test-taking!

Ooooh I remember the one (and only!) time that happened to me. The cashier stared at the screen, then back at me, then back at the screen...I grabbed a handful of candy bars and threw them at her, saying I "forgot" them. I would probably have only needed 1, but I was so freaked out I ended up buying about 10 of them!

It was my last Q, the Burt's Bees freebie. I just took it back, 'natch.
I saw that the other day @ "my" target. I had 1 q one for a free bag of dog food and one bag of dog food. The q tried to scan for more than the dog food

Good luck! I would love to be a veternarian but the area I want to specialize in would not work well around where I live.

I definitely recommend calling up some local vets and shadowing them! It is so much fun and you can learn soooo much!

I was just looking though coupons and realized I have Eggo coupons that expire 9/1 that I cannot use up. Does anyone need any maybe to do the FFS deal or just stock up? They are $1 off any Eggo. I think I have about 20 extra so if more than one person is interested I could split them into two groups. I also have those Vocalpoint Rice Krispie coupons. No one at my house eats RK not even in RK treats, really. These found good homes and my desk will be slightly cleaner tomorrow!
I am going to a lunch thing tomorrow at a really nice Italian restaurant, except somehow I know that for a crowd that size they will probably do something that would NEVER be on the real menu. So probably buttered pasta and a chicken breast. This place is known for Shrimp Paesano, the shrimp are probably dredged in cornstarch and then sauteed and the sauce is buttery, lemony, garlicky.. I have a bazillion copycat recipes that all start with a stick of butter for 2 servings. I tossed all the recipes I saved over the years with fat like that except I hang onto these. None of them equal the real thing though. I should just prepare for rubber chicken breast...

I was thinking the same thing, but I would also check out the financial aspects before I invested in all the years of training to be a full vet. It could be our area, but it is very competitive on the fee side and now I think a lot of people buy their meds online so no huge markup on flea meds etc. A friend of mine's daughter was pretty shocked to find out what she would likely be making and not the OMG that's great kind of shock. But working for a vet or vet hospital could still be a great career. Just not having the financial responsibility for the rent, staff, equipment, etc. in an tough environment.

I start job-shadowing on Friday. I'm actually really excited to work with this vet although he has a rep in these parts for being a little bit Crazy He is currently lobbying for a new pronoun to be added to the English language. "Ne" will be used in those situations where you would say "His or her" apparently. Confused All of that aside, he believes in conservative medicine where all you CAN do for your pet is not necessarily what you SHOULD do. Will give me an interesting perspective on things, for sure.

It's funny - I've wanted to do this since I was about 5 years old and it's not so much about the money as the fulfillment of it...if I did a little better than breaking even I think I'd be content. I figure I'll take baby steps into the field and see where I end up. Smilie

Agree 100% with you.

Vet's are generally not in their profession to make money, they are in it for the love and respect that they have of animals.

I hate to say this, but you can work as an experience vet. tech. and take home just about the same amount of money as a single partner veternairy practice. (After everything has been paid).

There is one vet I used to use (and still would if I lived in the same area) and I swear whatever money he had was put into his facility. He has one of the top-knotch animal boarding facilities. His equipment is very up to date and his staff are very well trained. Of course he lives in a small home on the property and drives an older truck.

Sometimes all that school does not equal more $$$. You have to go to school for what you love and what you want to do with your life, you don't go to school to think solely about your paycheck when you graduate. That high paying job may be the worst job for you...

Sounds like he would be someone great to work for, especially with his conservative approach. I hate to say this, but spending $5k on an animal that has a 5% survival rate is just outlandish, yet people do it all the time (well they used to before this downhill economy really kicked in).

You have a good attitude towards it and I think you would do great. I recommend learning as much as possible and getting as much experience. As I posted, an experienced vet tech can make just as much as a single partner veternarian (meaning said vet is sole owner) clinic.

I've thought many times to go back, but around here it would put one so deep in the hole that going that far red every month is just not healthy, nor a good business practice. Good luck with it, and I am sure you will have a blast! I worked for a vet that was an opthamologist also (for animals Wink ). It was truly an interesting learning experience. My only regret is not trying to learn more.

I think baby steps in the veterinary field is a GREAT goal. A lab technician or a vet. assistant sometimes is than being the actual doctor. Smilie

By the way, the competition to get into vet school is enormous. Just at Madison 1200 applicants for this school year. Only 90 got accepted.

My daughter was one of the 90. Smilie She doesn't even want an office, we wants to do research.

Clap Good for you!!! I went back to school when I was 35 (wow that was along time ago)
I was horrible in high school, skipped all the time, got "I's" (Incomplete) missed over 100 days in one school term. Got A's in Art and Gym...
Went back part time at night for many years and got my degree in Criminology. Got all A's and was on Deans list.

Then I quit my job and went back to school for business so I could open my own bakery.. LOL. Totally loved the law, but was able to make my own hours decorating and designing unique and interesting cakes... the artistic side of me just wanted that freedom.

So all the best to you.. You go GIRL! hug
