This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Aww...that's horrible. I've heard this happening quite a bit lately. I leave my purse in my car all the time with all my giftcards, ECBs etc. Those are worth more than the cash I have! Maybe we all have to be more careful, and take our purses or hide them in the back underneath a blanket or something.

I'm trying to wean my 17 mo old off the bottle, he went to bed without one last night. (he was probably just really tired) This morning he woke up and asked for one so I showed him the cabinet where they go and it was emptied of all the bottles and replaced with sippy cups. I told him we gave the bottles to a baby who needed them. So it's naptime and I put him down, and he is wailing BA-BA, BA-BA, BA-BA. Crying Its breaking my heart...I want to give him one, but know he should've been off the bottle a while ago. My other 2 kids were not a problem, at 13 mos or so I just took it away and they drank out of their cups. My friends say its okay if he still has one if it is only for bedtime. But I think he is old enough not to need it. Any ideas?? Thoughts?? Suggestions??
Thanks!!

Just hang in there hug Do something else to ease sleep times. Maybe a new "signal" like a book, blanket, etc. If you give in your only taking one step forward and 2 steps back. I stopped all of mine cold turkey, but my friend gave hers a bottle at sleep times and then stopped that eventually. Depends on what your comfy with.

This is tough, I know. My thoughts are with you and your little guy. It will get better.

When I took the bottle away from my then about 13 month old I made a new routine instead. One kid essentials would be drank before bed in the kitchen, then teeth brush then off to bed. Hope you find something that works for you!hug

I think that bottle weaning is a subject that everyone has their own opinion on.. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer. I think it depends on the child. In my experience, the longer the child takes a bottle, the harder to break. 3 of mine were off the bottle at 1 year, but one child took til he was 15 months or so. I would be firm with him, but when I went to work, my hubby would give in. I finally threw the bottles away so that he couldn't give in and we were done in a week. I don't think there is a need for a bottle even at night time as long as the child can drink from a sippy, but that is just my thought. I am not saying it is wrong to let them have it if you want to, just that it isn't really a need. My daughter was the hardest to train to a sippy cup. She just couldn't get the hang of the spill proof valve, so we broke her from the bottle with straw cups. I would personally give it a try and see how he does.. He will cry and ask for it I am sure, but try to be consistent. If you decide he just isn't ready, then I would just wait a little longer and try again. No need to stress about it I think.
My pedi did mention before that he thought it was easier to bottle break in the warmer months though. In the winter months when kids get colds and ear stuff, they look to the bottle more for comfort sometimes.

Good luck! Bottle breaking was not too big of a deal for us...now potty training was a different story. Dreading starting that with my DD in a few monthsWink

I have a random Pampers GTG question for you guys. On the Shutterfly rewards it says "This reward may only be redeemed one time per account." Do you know if that means once per SF account or once per GTG account? And has anyone redeemed a SF reward more than once per either account? - ok, that last sentence really didn't make sense but I think you catch my drift.
