This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

they will never get it- they don't want to.

Lot of talk in the t thread giving ideas to noobs about GC's and other things(opposite of underage). hope T doesn't get a whiff of this stuff and start imposing new rules. Really hard to stay too long over there.

Maybe I'll stay out of the deals thread after reading ya'lls discussion!

Quote from setsail :
Do people really use 100s of trial size items?
I do use trials of soaps and shampoos for going to the gym. Trial baby stuff (lotions, baby wash, etc...) I use to make up gift bags for baby showers.

However, I don't take a fistfull of coupons and clear shelves. I may have done more than I should have a few times early on, but I quickly learned my lesson and I can read and learn from other people's experiences and heed their rational advice! Besides, there's no reason why you can't spread it out over several days and several stores - at least for most folks. (I know, there's always someone who only has access to one store ever in the entire month and it's a 6 hour drive, yada yada... but that's really rare).

Anyway - I'm not saying anything ya'll haven't already said...

I guessed wednesday, but it was bound to happen. [snip]
I tried, but couldn't come up with a good way to combine badger and tortoise to make a semi-intelligible word... I don't think foks really believe how much corps are watching various forums. They know we'll find the loophole, so they will watch for the mistakes and correct 'em quickly.

EEK! Just get a smaller package next time Wink I also have the same fear with TP and paper towels. If the fort shows any sign of dwindling I panic nod
Ya'll would be ashamed of me. I have 4 rolls. (and no q's) *sigh*

You need to know how to return a gift, or what to get?? At that age, I'd get a gift for mom... LOL!

Quote from sungoddess7 :
It was a foreign concept to me at the time that someone would actually do that. But, as I've seen for the past couple of years, people unfortunately do do that.
Would've never occured to me either - but I'm seeing more and more of it around here. Frown

And, of course, I get to the end and forget what I came in here for originally...

Happens to me every day when I walk into another room. hug

And I should edit my post, I didn't mean for it to sound like there is no use for travel size bottles. But I've seen places where people talk about buying several at one time just to burn the coupon. The travel size are great for gift bags and for sending to troops but for me, I found they ended up cluttering my house (before I donated any I had and vowed not to buy more LOL).

I know I have a knee jerk reaction to the travel size thing because if a coupon beeps, at the one T near me, if these 2 particular team leads are working they will come running and first accuse me of buying the travel size. Because I am a known couponer, but obviously they don't know me that well. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Is Em working at Target? This could be FABULOUS! But, I won't ever feel right letting her be my jedi. I don't want her to ever get in trouble or feel used, but damn that would be sweeeet Evillaugh
LMAO LMAO she is, but not a cashier LMAO LMAO
Quote from sungoddess7 :
That actually just reminded me of when I first started seriously couponing at Target and the Choxie deal was out... I had picked up two and had other things in my order and the cashier at the time was telling me of this guy that came in and took every single Choxie bar they had (upwards of 100) in the checkout areas and used the free coupon in a single transcation. She was highly annoyed about it, and was glad to see me with only two. It was a foreign concept to me at the time that someone would actually do that. But, as I've seen for the past couple of years, people unfortunately do do that.
I remember when the Choxie deal was out someone posted in deals about returning a bar because they let it sit in their cupboard until it was out of date, and then wanted to return it. laugh out loud

Totally understand - beeps are not good at any of my stores (though sometimes unavoidable...) Most my q's go unused, but I do try to grab a couple trial sized things here and there to keep us replenished for the gym. There's nothing like leaving a full bottle of shampoo or deodorant behind. (not that I actually *pay* retail for the big sizes - but still...!)

Gifts for a 2-3 month old... I just don't know. I don't know too many infants that have much to say on the matter... lol. Clothes are the obvious, soft blankets, rattles, something for when they are older - like 6/9 mos. Swings are nice if they don't have one, diapers useful, babysitting coupons for mom & dad date nights, cd's with lullabyes, books on cd, a toybox... Hope that gets you thinking...

Thanks for understanding! I wasn't trying to come across as an asshat. But somewhere, some coupon lady at this store has ruined it for other normal couponers. If you are a lurker here, stay away from the NOVA Targets. Don't ruin any more for us. Mad

How much I love Target- every time we move, I check the Target site before signing a lease to map out where my closest store will be. LMAO My checklist was seriously, convenience to dh's work, information about the school district, and whether it had a Target.

Yeah, we use trial sizes for travel and for the pool/gym. Great to toss it in the bag, use it and then throw it away. It never fails that a full size bottle of shampoo somehow bursts open...and even if it's in a ziploc the ziploc leaks. *sigh*

About the gift for the baby: why not get a package of dipes, a package of wipes and some of the free/near free stuff w/ the tqs? I just put together a package for my cousin and her new baby...2 big bottles, 2 small bottles, J&J swabs, Aveeno shampoo, lotion, diapers, travel size tylenol, gerber onesies, a bib, wipes and I put it all in a diaper caddy so it's like a gift basket. The caddy was gifted to me and in like new condition b/c I already had my own system set up...so all in all I paid like $5. But it looks awesome.

I also got an email for a free lace trim thong with any pink purchase [cheetahmail.com]. INAA might like this link! Wink5

I found tearpads for Try Me Free Goody Ouchless tonight. Anyone want to trade some of those $2/2 coupons for some of these? I don't have details and they are in the car, so I will post more tomorrow.

Tonight at Kmart I saw a display of Oreos that said save $1.50 on milk wyb Oreos but of course the coupons were not there (no evidence that they ever were so either they didn't put them up or a greedy mofo took them all Teehee ) so keep an eye out!
