All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

completely off topic (when is that a problem in this thread?? Coverlaugh) but today while checking out the lady in front of me was chatting with a friend and told her she needed to tell her boyfriend to "slow his roll". I was cracking up not even knowing what that meant, but after getting home and looking up my old friend "Urban Dictionary", now I'm REALLY laughing LMAO

Teri, I know how you feel about the hospitals. That was exactly how I felt when my BP was going up during the preg. They were just "running me through the system." Did not like.

Hope all feel better soon. I feel like I've run into a spate of bad luck or something.
Let's see. . . the car broke down on a busy 8 lane street at rush hour when I had baby in tow; had my purse stolen; tire troubles; didn't get the "new" old car; and worst of all,
baby is now refusing the take his morning naps. I'm going Crazy with this. I've tried everything I can think of: putting him down earlier; putting him down later; exposing him to light early in the morning.. . .

Instead of quickly going back to sleep after nursing he now lays in there making noises (usually not crying but sometimes) for more than an hour, sometimes up to 1 1/2 hours before going to sleep finally, or sometimes (like today) not at all before I go and get him.
Head Bang I just don't know what to do; I feel terrible for him and I can't get anything done anymore.

Thanks for listening you all and if anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
Comfort

I've told DH and DD to slow their roll for quite some time now. Mini usually gets it around that time of month when her roll is out of control. Teehee

SB, is it possible that ds is changing his own schedule? Perhaps move his nap to a later time?

on a good note: since I'm on a forced vacay, I dedicde to go by Publix. A fresh brand new tearpad of b2g1 hersheys was just sitting there on the shelf, teetering a bit...oops, it fell into my purse Big Grin
Ok since you are on "forced vacay" I was thinking don't you have STL (short term leave) or something? Does your state offer some sort of disability pay? Seriously, if they will not allow you to come back to work I can''t see how they can make you eat up your vacay time and then when that runs out what? No pay...fark that! Talk to your HR peeps right away!

I will freak when my kid stops napping. He naps from 230-5 every day. The only way it's later is if we put him down later. He also sleeps 11-12 hours a night.
BonkCensored2ChairbashSlap

You had to know that would be my reply Wink hug

While my kids started off as notoriously bad sleepers, they are much better these days. Granted nobody sleeps 12 hours a night in this house Sadwalk

Quote from sbhiggins :
I thought about that, but he's barely 7 months old and I thought that transition didn't happen unitl after 1 year. . .

He sleeps from 7:30 PM til 6:30 AM most nights. And I'm counting my blessings that that hasn't been interrupted.
IIRC, "the sleep experts" say that they usually transition to one nap a day between 12-18 months, so it is still on the early side, but it may just be that he is ready for it. It could be though that he is just ready for another 30 mins of awake time before his AM nap. Take this with a lb of salt (b/c I am not the sleep expert), but my suggestion would be to still try to put him down for his 2 naps, but see if you can push the first one back by 30 mins. HTH!

Now Ms. Teri - sounds like not feeling well hasn't put a kink in your shenanigans Teehee Seriously, I hope you feel better. I know it's a pain, but get the workup done - there is a reason they are recommending it. Hopefully it is nothing though, and then you can tell us what a pain in the arse the whole thing was. hug

I was getting them at T w/the $1.50/3 or $1/3 MQs and the TQs.

Yes, it seems likely (or as likely as anything else laugh out loud). I think tomorrow I'll just see what happens; instead of doing the "two hours" interval I'll play it by ear and wait for him to act tired. He's never been too good at giving me cue for stuff like that (or I've never been too good at reading them Embarrassment)

nope. nada. just using my sick leave/vacay leave. thankfully I have a bit saved up. but in the case I run out, I can ask for donations from co-workers. pathetic I know.

Yeah, well the only thing that will keep me from a good tearpad is being in a coma. laugh out loud ahh, the tests..you must have forgotten the story about the last time I was on a treadmill and took the flapping fish tumble of horror in front of the blind date.

these days I can barely breath, I won't last 2 minutes on a treadmill.

That Barb has got to be one of the most thoughtful and generous people I know heart. Today I got a box from her that was filled to the brim. I almost cried at her careful attention to details. (She knows I love cats and that one of my cats has been suffering for over 2 weeks with a hairball - yesterday he had to get some fluids injected into him, because he's barely eating/drinking.) Thanks, Barb! You're such a gem.
