Also, the AMOLED screen is nice, but I don't stare at my watch screen often enough to find it worth the tradeoff in terms of battery life. I had an Apple Watch 6, and I tried out a Garmin VENU a few years ago and I'm fine with the crappy pixelated screen on my old 3HR. The Fenix 7 will be a big enough upgrade for me as it is.
I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't take an AMOLED over MIP LCD if battery life was at least functionally equivalent for all practical purposes (i.e., always long enough to get me through my longest races and between normal recharging intervals), just seems we're not there yet. I was hoping the fenix 7 would get us there, but seems that was a bit optimistic.

And if I was an ultra runner, I'd for sure get the Fenix 7x.
Looks like standard version now includes what was in 6 pro - memory, maps, music, wi-fi.
The only difference now is size + solar + sapphire options.
