For anyone trying to decide between the Fenix 7 and the Epix 2, while the AMOLED screen is a big upgrade over the regular Fenix screen, 6 days of battery life now will be less over the years. I'm still rocking my 3HR (7 years now!) and my battery life is about 6 days, down from two weeks when it was released. If you plan to upgrade your watch often, then battery degradation isn't a big deal. For me, I plan to keep this watch for several years and while 6 days of battery life is ok, 3-4 days in two years would be a deal breaker for me. I hate charging my watch as I always forget it when I leave for work or I realize the battery is low when I start my run.

Also, the AMOLED screen is nice, but I don't stare at my watch screen often enough to find it worth the tradeoff in terms of battery life. I had an Apple Watch 6, and I tried out a Garmin VENU a few years ago and I'm fine with the crappy pixelated screen on my old 3HR. The Fenix 7 will be a big enough upgrade for me as it is.
Another thought RE: AMOLED screens is visibility in direct sunlight. They suffer in very bright environments, as they need to explicitly output enough more brightness to compete. In contrast, the simple memory-in-pixel LCD screen of the fenix is perfectly visible in direct sunlight (as far as the eye is concerned, it's closer to an e-ink display than it is an LED, though technically that is not the case). And the simple backlight is more than sufficient when it's dark.

I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't take an AMOLED over MIP LCD if battery life was at least functionally equivalent for all practical purposes (i.e., always long enough to get me through my longest races and between normal recharging intervals), just seems we're not there yet. I was hoping the fenix 7 would get us there, but seems that was a bit optimistic.

Agreed - 2 weeks with the Epix 2 would be fine for me... less is just not enough when the Fenix 7x can go a month between charges. For people that don't mind charging more often, I can see why they'd go with the Epix 2. I'd love AMOLED myself of course.

And if I was an ultra runner, I'd for sure get the Fenix 7x.

7 is out, that's nice.
Looks like standard version now includes what was in 6 pro - memory, maps, music, wi-fi.
The only difference now is size + solar + sapphire options.
Thanks for making it a little bit easier this time.

Good deal for those who needs it now.
I would wait a little bit because I am poor and cant afford even sale price.

There will probably be similar deals to this one in the future but it'll be a LONG time before they drop substantially below this sale price. That was the case with both the 5 and 6 before this.

I know! It's a tough decision! FYI all, just got a shipping confirmation and my 7x is scheduled to be delivered Thursday. I'm still in shock that this 20% off actually worked!

I have a Fenix 6 and I'm debating on the Epix. Keep watching a million videos. lol Seems like the Epix has similar battery life to the existing Fenix 6? Just need to justify it in my mind lol

I have an almost 2 year old Fenix 6 Pro and it seems that it'd have less battery life than a brand new Epix. I'm going for the Epix, DC Rainmaker's video finally convinced me.

Ok, stupid issue:
my MIles code was working just fine (i.e. discount applied), but when I returned to the cart 2h later to make the purchase, site is showing regular price even with the coupon applied. Anyone had a similar issue?

Not working. In checkout, it shows "Discount applied: GRMN20-......... [Remove]", but the price does not change? Tried several different models
