Body washes and shampoo I'll buy online because they don't really go bad, but I try to get my hair products in person - Ulta, Target, etc. - so that I can confirm it is not old stock. I have found some ancient stuff from time to time, especially in places like (gasp) Marshalls.

I have hair somewhat like Bradley Cooper from Limitless, but maybe a bit shorter. I'm not sure if many hair products will be effective for me. It seems like no matter what I use, I can't quite get my hair to look perfect
Enjoy your hair while you have it gents *sniff*
The purpose is, when you contact customer service with Amazon, I've always gotten immediate and complete satisfaction. THAT'S what makes Amazon worth it, the customer service. For those who are afraid of the phone and insist on chat sessions or emails, I have no idea if it's as good. But I don't get the level of attention and care from any other retailer.

Would you say this is the reason you don't have hair? Trying to find a safe product
That seems to be changing over the last year or so. I, like you, thought their customer service bent over backwards all the time. That is simply no longer the case imo. I have had 2 of the last 3 issues taken up with them not be resolved. They basically didn't care. That never happened for me since Amazon prime started.
The bad part ~ even the traditional places we purchase from to ensure we had the genuine products is really not safe anymore. This is because many counterfeiters will sell to suppliers as "overstock" which then gets mixed into the normal supplies.
The good part ~ Most counterfeit products are legit copies of the original product, as the formulas are pretty much common domain in China, where most of these products are made.
My take-away .... No longer is the mom-and-pop places safe from counterfeit products. The best we can do, is have a place that allows returns and exchanges when a product fails to perform.
Also, for what it's worth products are sold by weight, not the size of the container. I would bet that the containers half full are still the 3oz of products. When I was a bit younger, I believe they used to be 4 or 5 oz per container. As they cut down on the product, they keep the container the same size. I am not saying you have to be happy with how they package it, but you are not buying a full container but specific volume.
