The ones I received from the last FP had great welds. No problem at all.
It can lift high enough to clear the tires off the ground.

😂
Home Depot is selling below the list price.
Like should my car be under 3 tons or 6 tons?
Also my intuition tells me I'd need only one pair, lift front only or back only… so do you make sure the total weight capacity is less than half the car? Since half the car is still on the ground?

If you use both of these jack stands, your vehicle would need to weigh less than 6k lbs total.
If you want to lift both the front and back, most people use two pairs of jack stands to do that because it provides more stability. Pairs are used to lift up one end or one side of the car.

1) rotate tires = easier with all 4 wheels off the ground.
2) transmission fluid change = When the car needs to be level for the check bolt/hole to function properly.
Some reviews say poor welds. Get your wheel chair ready Lieutenant Dan!
I recommend stacking HF Jack stands on top of them.
