Olympic set, bar is 45, and each big weight per side is 45. u can get 5 10 25 too. probably is still the standard.. try fb marketplace if nothing here try under 50ยข per #

Agreed not to skimp on the barbell but I wouldn't get a boneyard bar. They only have a year warranty whereas for less than $100 more you get the non boneyard and lifetime warranty. Granted the barbell shouldn't "go bad" with a little upkeep but worth it in my opinion.
Rogue, Vulcan are good quality but pricey but both have stuff made in the U.S. unlike other brands. York is good for old school plates and cheaper overall for non calibrated plates.

Get the 15 lb rage barbell and bumper plates. You'll spend a little more but your floors won't be a concern, the barbell will be full size, and the kid can do clean and jerk, deadlifts, squats and a few other things without worrying when they need to drop the weights.
Also highly recommend horse stall mats at tractor supply. Thick rubber, get two and you're golden.
Find kettlebells instead of dumbbells btw. More versatile.
Eesh. And I thought I paid too much at $200 back in May. It was at modells after "$50 off". At least it's a solid bench. I have no regrets about the quality.
Any recent buyers here? I just became skeptical of Weider after that. These things are such a hassle to return.
Two things to be aware of:
1. The bench height is 3-4" taller than typical benches, this can cause issues with getting leg drive when bench pressing
2. The safety bars are pretty short and the height may not be where you need them
I still use the bench regularly but have upgraded to a full cage since I lift alone at home
Even standard 1" used iron plates are often $1/#. Used Olympic plates are closer to $2/#. New plates are $1.50/# standard and $2.50 - $3.50/# Olympic.
