BestBuy has the Samsung
MX T40 Sound Tower (Black) on sale for
149.99. Free Shipping. Lowest price I have seen in the past 60 days at least. Amazon still has this for 197.99.
Nothing like playing some Tower of Power through a Sound Tower with High Power!

I tried several different brands of speakers across a few visits to Best Buy (my local stores stocks a lot of these--Sony, Bose, Samsung, and several other brands I can't remember) and this was the best bang for the buck for me testing in store. There was a Sonos solution that was slightly better audio quality and less power but cost nearly twice as much and was difficult to find. The lows, mids, and highs all seemed to be of pretty good quality and well balanced for a Bluetooth speaker and it had plenty of power for my house and uses. It has a traditional remote but also has a Bluetooth app that let's you control balance, volume, and settings like bass boost. There are also some color LED lights with some basic color adjustment options which you can also remote control (nothing fancy like robust color control but can add a bit of ambience into some preset color modes if you like that, I personally do).
I use this in my living room for background music when I have family/friends get togethers. This is the smaller model but by no means is it small, especially compared to a typical Bluetooth speaker. Be sure to check the dimensions if you haven't seen it in person. It does have some other audio connectors IIIRC and a USB port if you have a music library you want to directly connect drom a drive or USB stick. Note that this isn't battery based so if that's useful to you, you may want to consider other options or solutions. I got mine ~$200 which I still consider a good value, so I'd say $150 is a pretty good deal.
One of the key features of these things I haven't used is that you can link multiple of these together and fill a larger area with them wirelessly. My living room is somewhat connected to my dining and TV area as well as an outside patio and the T40 can easily supply background and foreground music for the entire area. I considered buying a second since this is even cheaper, but I'm probably going to pass because I think it'll be overkill for my space.
I debated on recess speakers, looked at traditional bookshelf speakers with a receiver configuration and everything was going to be too time consuming and complex to deal with. This hit the sweet spot of portability, quality, ease of configuration/use, and price for me. YMMV.

It looks like it's more of a higher end Bluetooth speaker. It does have analog inputs, however. Seems like a more party/barbecue speaker.

Not Samsung, but my brother has one like this that has a built-in battery.

These are massive, even this model is large, I couldn't find a use for it as moving it stinks, leaving it in place defeats the purpose ad i have outdoor/garage/home speakers throughout. If I want to take music with me for a group, I grab my milwaukee box.
