As an Indian, I have never really understood what curry powder is
MSG isn't bad.
This is not actually true. Yes, we all know that "curry powder" is a combination of spices customized by individual and region, but you could say that about any cuisine, like is there really ONE kind of Italian red sauce? No. But no one gets on their high horse about it. And I'm pretty sure plenty of Indians will buy a brand of curry powder they like and use it. In fact, there's an Indian market near me that's frequented by people of South Asian backgrounds and--guess what?--they sell curry powder there.

Contains no MSG. The other brand in my cabinet right now does contains MSG, but it was significantly cheaper.[biglots.com] Unsure on overall quality until I receive this and can compare.
That's a whole lot of curry powder that'll probably go stale well before it's all used. Better to buy spices in small quantities from bulk dispensers. Cheaper too.

That's actually... correct. In most cases spices will just lose a bit of its punch over time. This is an enormous amount of curry that most families would need a couple of years to go through.

Me neither. But upon looking at the ingredients coriander, cumin, fenugreek, ginger, turmeric, bay leaves, nutmeg, cloves, red chilli, black pepper etc. Most Indian households would have all these individual ingredients in their kitchen.
