in a word yes, but OLED also costs quite a bit more for similar size
01-24-2022 at 10:32 AM
Its not even a comparison.

The people who are buying this TV do not care about quality, they simply want to have a huge tv. My buddy has last years model and he invited us over to watch a football game last year and I felt embarrassed for him. The motion issues on these screens are ridiculous.

Simple answer yes.

Long answer depends on your uses, placement, and potential burn-in problems.

I strongly suggest researching on rtings.com as they have detailed reviews before you start pumping money. Take your time as offers may be rebounding back alternative months with one or the other sale/sport seasons pops up. Also at times, a $100 more may be giving more features and/or a newer version.
As a layman who did not used either of these two brand TVs: I suggest going after brand new one with more warranty coverage unless you are leaning after Samsung than LG as both seems to be stronger brands.
PS: I use Sony 65 inch from 2018 Summer bought from BestBuy as Costco was not selling Sony around that time so I had to add warranty from side for my own assurance.

2 years Costco + 3 years AllState included in price. Pay with Costco Citi Visa card and get additional 2 years from Citi. That is a total of 7 years. Enjoy.

Spend $100 more and get the UP8770 series and it comes with a $50 Costco Cash card.
Looks up another deal from early November for this same deal. I had problems with the backlight edge bleed on three units.
Otherwise, it is a great TV for the price.
Seems like an insane price with a 5 year warranty. Wow. Wishi could fit an 86" somewhere.
Costco also has the same one as BB (w/ newer processor) at the same price as BB... and it comes with the extra warranty, $100 streaming credit, and a $50 Costco Shop Card.

Looks like a big screen for the bucks to me. If I didn't already have an 82 I'd be all over this.

How does the 5 year warranty work for Costco? Do I need to purchase the AllState 3 year insurance for 99?

Hi folks. Going to grab this one, need a nice large budget friendly TV. I saw this at best buy online below, I am still leaning on the Costco one due to warranty tho. Or should I just pay the extra $100 and get the best buy version with newer processor? Thanks!

Thanks! Did you end up returning it for good or was third time a charm?

Sigh. Waited for the ru9000 to come back for a while, just compromised on a 75 u6g. Wish I'd waited. This is a killer deal on a monster TV.

Edit: **** it. Too good to pass up.
