TVs are great, merchant is fine, but don't buy this for the warranty.
They use CPS for that warranty which is essentially useless. CPS has removed years from my warranty for no reason (I only found out because they emailed me trying to "upsell" me back those years) and refused to correct the years even with the invoice and receipt, so I had to get the merchant on the line to fight with them. Even once corrected, If you try calling them for anything they will find a way to make it impossible to complete your claim.
Sorry it happened to you but this is not a widespread issue, LG has above average reliability and is a quality TV brand, should have bought a warranty I guess?
To my eyes an OLED's PQ is superior to any LED technology I have seen.

Is there anybody with a successful claim story? My 4 year old broke our 77" OLED playing with her yoyo a month ago and I'm terrified of being denied. Damn thing was so expensive I'm ready to call an attorney if it helps. 🤦
I don't think warranty covers user accident unless you're getting insurance.
Also, anyone wanting to get this for a monitor, get the 42 version instead. I Love big screen but 48 will be too close on a desk. 42 is the sweet spots if you want a large desk screen.
5% ebay bucks right now too. The $100 costco streaming credit can be used for $100 of plain old xbox credit though if you are in that ecosystem. Probably have to weigh going through Costco to get the TV and the benefits of that (super easy returns + 5 year warranty) vs Buydig here (slightly cheaper, worse warranty, returns will obviously be a hassle).
Do you know anything about the 5% eBay bucks? I bought this tv and it's showing I earned zero bucks
I have been using this as a monitor for over a year. I spent 1500 on it and I do not regret it. I also got an extended BB warranty to cover burn in, just in case. But I don't have any issues with it and I use it daily.
The wording of the title makes it sound like the warranty for this is an accident. Lol.
"4 year accidental warranty." Haha
It's the "accidental" part. I would've either said, "accident" or left that out entirely.
Sorry. It was just funny, to me. I guess it's somewhat of an ok deal, though. LG OLEDs are hands down the best TVs on the market. Though, I'm interested in seeing how Sony's new QD-OLED turns out when that hits the market.
Also, if you're new to OLED, don't let people scare you away by talking about burn-in. Those people usually just regurgitate misleading information and have no actual experience with OLED, or it's typically user error. Burn-in can happen, but it's not nearly as common as some people say/believe. It mostly happens if you just get super unlucky and get a bad panel, or if you really abuse the TV by leaving it on static images while you leave the house, or if you do an ungodly amount of marathon watching.
I've spent hours upon hours, day after day, watching movies/playing games on an OLED, without the slightest hint of burn-in, after 2 years.

Your credit card may cover accidental damage up to a certain amount for first 90 days.
I use mine as a monitor and I actually think 48 is a still too large... I would love a 38-42" 144-200Hz OLED monitor
In contrast I'm using a 55 CX as a monitor and absolutely love it whether I'm working in Blender, gaming, browsing the web, watching YouTube or streaming Netflix, etc. I really don't notice any down side to having the extra space, and particularly like that I can set the UI scaling to 100% with 4k pixels of space and fonts are pretty much exactly the right size for me.
One funny side note about the OLED is that I have my desktop background set to pure black and I have been fooled dozens of times about whether the screen was on or off since there is no discernable difference. Love it.

But I am buying it literally only as a gaming screen to work as a second monitor on my computer.
I got a 3080 TI graphics card and I'm wanting that sweet sweet video goodness.
My monitor is 21:9 g sync 100hz but it doesn't do hdr, or 4k. Or faster than 100hz.
But I'm gonna keep using that as my main desktop screen so I'm not worried about burn in.

That bring your price to like 990 before tax.
