This is with bestbuy, so no bill credit involved, it's instant trade in value that deducts from the sale price, and tax is on the deducted selling price too. Don't mislead others.

ATT is $100 cheaper further. $500 for mini and $600 for regular. But trade in values are horrible.

T-Mo is still the best in value overall.

Good luck with unlocking+canceling the plan. T-mobile gave me no end of trouble when I took advantage of the previous trade in deal. Had to travel to three stores before I found an employee who knew how to unlock. They still messed up canceling the account. I got a letter from a collection agency and everything.

how does the trade-in work, meaning once we complete transaction we trade in in person when we pick up the phone?

Yes, all tradeins are processed in store.

Traded in an XR for an S21 last time. Seems like the S21 is worth $550 so only another $150 + tax to get the iPhone. Hmmm.

I have 2 iphone 12 minis from a previous TMO EIP deal. I paid off the phones and still receive the EIP credits. I have not opened the phones (hoping to flip), though I have tried to get TMO to unlock but no go.

I'm thinking trade these in for iphone 13 mini but not sure it really is beneficial for me as they are still locked to TMO anyway and I will have to shell out $123 after tax as well.

Any thoughts or suggestions on my scenario?
Try contacting T-Mobile's t-force through twitter. I've had luck there unlocking serval phones once paid off even though still receiving bill credits.

Anyone else getting this message when checking eligibility?

" T-Mobile is telling us that Best Buy is not currently able to complete the transaction on this account. Please contact T-Mobile for additional details."

ETA: it's because my 12 mini was still on EIP/locked. After paying off and chatting with T-Mobile, it's unlocked and no longer hit this error. Now I just get the same error re: try again later that others are getting.

No. You get monthly credits on your TMO bill.
I am paying Best Buy upfront. How will I get monthly credits when I am doing trade-in at BB ?

1) Pay off the iphone 12 minis and Tmobile will unlock. You may have to open the phones and plug in the SIM for Tmobile to recognize the device for unlocking (it depends on the agent). Sell once unlocked. Keep receiving your remaining bill credits for iphone 12 minis.

2) Trade-in to best buy for iphone 13 minis. Use either tmobile or AT&T methods to unlock the phone. Sell once unlocked. Keep receiving your remaining bill credits for iphone 12 minis.

3) Wait for iphone 14 or iphone 15. Your 12 minis should have plenty of value to trade up.

Keep in mind when you sell you are not going to get list price even if you have a year of applecare. You will have to discount around $100 off list to get buyers.

I am not tech or deal savvy but how does this BB deal compare or beat Tmobile's deal which seems to be the same deal? Can someone please explain since I have 3 11s I want to upgrade.

It's not monthly credits, you pay in full and get instant credit.

When you pickup the phone, have your trade-in phone charged, wiped, reset, and on the "hello" screen. Inform the door greeter that you are there to pickup a cell phone. They may direct you to either the pickup desk or mobile desk (depends on the store and time). Inform the agent that you are there to trade-in AND pickup at the same time (they may assume you are there to pickup only). Agents know to click the little "i" button on the hello screen to get all the necessary information for the trade-in. No one reported what happens if you pickup without trading-in in your phone, but since best buy has your id, contact info, and CC, they have the means to bill you after.

I remembered the tmobile rep when I text (phone number not TForce) them during cancellation it can be reactivated within 90 days so maybe I just needed to text them again to reactive it? But this deal is only 24hrs so not much wiggle room if I cant get that original $20 sim card to reactivate since I dont have any signal when I pop it into my unlocked s21.

Btw when it is reactived do I use the orignal $20 sim or the most current sim that came with the phone since I did a few tradeins with the original $20 line.
Sorry I don't know the t-mobile limit on the number of phones you can upgrade on one line. I recall reading someone had done nine trade-ins on the $20 line in one of the Total Wireless iPhone XR threads.

In the worst case scenario, you'd find your resurrected account couldn't do more trade-in. You still get your $20 back from T-Mobile, Right? Unless your time is worth more than $100 an hour, it's a win.

It is on tmobile website right now. You need magenta max plan. But you don't need to add a new line.
