This is with bestbuy, so no bill credit involved, it's instant trade in value that deducts from the sale price, and tax is on the deducted selling price too. Don't mislead others.

ATT is $100 cheaper further. $500 for mini and $600 for regular. But trade in values are horrible.

T-Mo is still the best in value overall.

Jesus Christ could you please sound more farking condescending.

The phone is activated and the error is just generic

" Looks like the IMEI number you entered doesn't match an AT&T Device."

Phone shows as SIM Locked and no other sims work.

Get off your farking high horse. I literally just did it right now again. It does not work.
I would like to echo your experience, I had two, sold one as is, think I might trade the other back to Best Buy for a $600 gift card. Something has definitely changed though.

Huh? Where is T-Mobile giving you $800 for an XR?
Sprint actually, not t-mobile. I traded an XR for $800 towards 13P Max. But still bill credit for long time

The deal was posted here.

Does anyone know when the warranty kicks in? I got the iPhone 13 but I haven't activated it. I searched the IMEI for it and it shows inactive and warranty not is not defined yet. I'm waiting until a month before my SO's birthday to activate it so at least the warranty will be at least 11 months instead of activating now in which case it will have only 8 months when she starts using it. She has Verizon so I'll activate it on T-Mobile (I'm on T-Mobile) a month or so ahead so it can be unlocked.

You can try calling Apple and find out to which carrier the phone is locked to. Once you know the carrier then you can submit an unlock request to that carrier.

I swear people like you can't read. The phone is locked to ATT because I followed bad advice here.

Help please! Here's my scenario….I bought the XR from the trafone deal and planned on giving it as a gift to my mother who seriously needs an updated phone. I have not activated the phone yet. My plans were to activate it and then give it to her to use with her current carrier consumer cellular. I'd like to get her this deal since it's a better phone. If I buy this would I be charged full price or ETFs if I cancel the service in 60 days so she can use it with Consumer Cellular?

I have my friend's name and account number. But when I tried to order from my BestBuy account, it also asks for last 4-digits of SS#.
Is there anything else I need besides my friend's last 4-digits of SS# ?
It will send text to the number you are using to upgrade and purchase phone

I just noticed that Best Buy included SIM cards with the phones we purchased (no mention was made of the SIM cards when I picked up the phones).

Can we disregard those SIM cards, and continue using our existing T-Mobile SIM cards with these new phones?
You'll need to use the new SIMs furnished by Best Buy if you follow the instructions to automatically activate your new iPhones - see the link in the email you get from Best Buy after you complete the purchase of your iPhones. That process has you key in the IMEI of your new iPhone(s) - and when you do, T-Mobile cuts over that line to the new SIM. T-Mobile will send the primary account holder a text notifying them of a SIM change. I suspect that part is what justifies Best Buy offering a $200 bonus on T-Mobile phone upgrades - it proves that Best Buy sold you a new phone for use on T-Mobile. Others have reached out to T-Mobile directly to activate the new iPhones, but no need to do that if you follow the Best Buy process.

Had to show them the $20 unlimited talk and text plan at T-Mobile store, otherwise they did know such plan. $30 activation fee per line.

You won't get charged anything if you cancel right away. Consumer cellular is either tmobile or at&t. Do you know which hers uses? If it's tmobile it'll work. If it's at&t it's going to be a toss up if the person at best buy will open the box and stick a sim card in or not and lock it to tmobile.
