This is with bestbuy, so no bill credit involved, it's instant trade in value that deducts from the sale price, and tax is on the deducted selling price too. Don't mislead others.

ATT is $100 cheaper further. $500 for mini and $600 for regular. But trade in values are horrible.

T-Mo is still the best in value overall.

The Minis typically don't get amazing value. Spend the extra and spring for the regular 13 if future trade
In value is important. No guarantee offers like this will be available with iPhone 14.

Having said all that. I farking love the 13 Mini and think it's the perfect size phone.
13 mini is so much better than 12 mini, like it a lot.

That's why you port the number out. No question it's canceled at that point.

10? From the same IP, same information? You probably triggered some type of fraud system.

Choose FREE - iPHONE CARRIER from the dropdown and put in the IMEI. It will tell you the locked carrier for free to confirm.
A mix, the last couple that wouldn't unlock were on completely different systems or VPN's, I tried it all, but maybe

You'll need to use the new SIMs furnished by Best Buy if you follow the instructions to automatically activate your new iPhones - see the link in the email you get from Best Buy after you complete the purchase of your iPhones. That process has you key in the IMEI of your new iPhone(s) - and when you do, T-Mobile cuts over that line to the new SIM. T-Mobile will send the primary account holder a text notifying them of a SIM change. I suspect that part is what justifies Best Buy offering a $200 bonus on T-Mobile phone upgrades - it proves that Best Buy sold you a new phone for use on T-Mobile. Others have reached out to T-Mobile directly to activate the new iPhones, but no need to do that if you follow the Best Buy process.
Not true. If you already have the latest Sim R15 in your existing phone (which supports T-Mobile new 5G SA infrastructure) you can just plop that in and use. If you don't there's a good chance you'll still get 5G but I recommend you activate the new included sim (likely a R15)

Sim R15

"Overview. T-Mobile operates in the US two 5G networks; Non Stand Alone (NSA) and Stand Alone (SA). Most of the current T-Mobile SIM cards in service today support 5G NSA network access. Only the most recent "R15" version of SIM card will have access to the 5G SA network (when available on Cradlepoint 5G modems)."

My existing phone is the S21 and has the R15 sim. I can just reuse it on the iPhone 13 without activating the included sim. I usually save the sim for emergency; it usually costs $10 if you do a BYOD but if you have a spare one you can just use it

All of your steps look correct. The line you use to upgrade won't lose upgrade eligibility. I've used the same line to upgrade multiple times since the iPhone XR deal popped up. And the same line is still eligible to do more upgrades. One thing I would suggest though: use the T-Mobile line to contact T-Force and request an unlock on Twitter. It usually goes through and you have a fully unlocked phone that you can take to another carrier in the future or resell for higher value. Worst case scenario they decline and you can still pop in your SIM card and it will be locked to AT&T.
This won't work. It won't show up as locked on T-Mobile if he never pops in the T-Mobile SIM. If he does pop it in and T-Force doesn't agree to unlock, he can't use it on AT&T until he gets it unlocked. If he has AT&T service, it's safer for him to just pop his AT&T SIM in, and figure out whatever AT&T's unlock process is.

Yes they are. Once order placed, you just pay what you see on the order checkout page.

For those of you who were upgrading iPhones, were you allowed to transfer your old phone to the new one?

The reason why I ask is because Google Authenticator doesn't transfer through an iCloud backup restore.

I can setup my phone by myself no problem. I really don't want to pay the $40 for them to do it.

I keep hearing different answers. How can I get this unlocked then? I use T-Mobile services, but I like an easy option to get it unlocked as needed.

Yes. But it takes forever to do it.

All up to your rep. Some are nice and will let you do it on the side. Others will charge. Please be mindful if your store is a busy one. From my experience, reps don't like when a customer does not have a backup ready especially if there are a lot of people waiting and short staffed due to covid.
