Marriott status is not that valuable. My last stay as a Titanium, I had to fight to get a room with a nice view. Didn't even bother asking for a suite, even though the program states I should be eligible for one. Marriott has repeatedly stated they want to take care of hotels, not members.

I was the last one in my company to stick it out with Marriott, but everyone has switched to Hilton because their rewards program is much better.

Yes, it is a promotion for everyone through 5/4/22. The catch is, it doesn't apply to existing reservations - so you'd need to rebook (at today's rates) any existing reservation to benefit from this.

basically each paid stay gets 1000 extra points and 2 stay credits per night instead of one.

no bonus for any points/cash and points reservations.

I agree with you. They don't care about elite members. I don't get any upgrades

Exactly, I booked sometime ago and the current rate is not good and I'm not going to cancel and rebook even though it's a 9 nights stay
Do you use any corporate discount codes?

This is a true statement the rewards program is much better at Hilton but the rooms are nicer at Marriott.

Is the elite night credit basically a free night you can use anytime? Anyone know how that works?
No it just gets added to your account for determining your membership status, ie silver (10 nights), gold (25), platinum (50), titanium (75), or ambassador (100 + $20k spent).

How is Hilton's program better? The award redemptions are terrible, with some crazy prices for some basic hotels. And Hilton's actual hotels themselves are worse in every way from any Marriott, but especially the higher tier: crappy elite breakfast, limited amenities, terrible service, cost cutting everywhere. Don't know anyone who enjoys staying at Hilton with top status versus Marriott.

It's very valuable to me. I'm one year away from the top lifetime status (already have lifetime gold) and am also currently titanium. Former ambassador. Suite upgrades are subject to availability, and of course a titanium with lifetime gold like me will get the upgrade before a titanium without lifetime status, or with minimal history. Also, you need to be wise about property picking - if they are full, or only have a few suite, of course you aren't going to get a space-available upgrade!

But more upgrades for titanium's like me who put in the time to find the property that is known for - and has the inventory - to provide a suite upgrade.

I typically read tripadvisor reviews before choosing my hotels. It seems like everytime I read Marriott hotel reviews, high elite members like yourself complain of this same thing. It use to not be that way, so this is very alarming to hear. Even late checkout is becoming harder and harder to get and certainly not for more than 1-2 hours extended max. Gold Elite use to get you lounge access, but they took that away.

The terms of this promo just show how terrible their program is. Why should it matter when you actually booked your hotel? It should only matter when you actually stay at the hotel. To make you cancel and rebook would be just silly.
Don't know what you are talking about. 4 pm checkout is guaranteed at all Marriott brands except a few carve outs (like BVLGARI etc) as well as all their resort and convention-labeled properties.

Also, the terms of the late checkout say you must request it AT CHECK IN. Too many people call the next morning - when they have already scheduled housekeeping, and likely didn't schedule one for late because they didn't have the request.

I always always always always always request it at check in verbally, and even in the app in writing (chat with the hotel). I can count on one hand, out of hundreds of stays, when a property has challenged it - even then, asking for a manager or calling Marriott got it honored. 100%

I'm also a Platinum Elite member and was able to register through the Bonvoy app.

Yes, they apparently redid their program. I'm not one to read all the fine print but when I book, there's a place where you can request a room upgrade. However, you are only allowed up to 5 per year. It's a catch-22 to me. I finally got an upgrade as I was never able to do so before.
They did not redo their programs. You are referring to suite night awards, which were added from SPG after they bought SPG.

The SNA allows a suite confirmation up to 5 days before check in. The normal complimentary upgrade process is at time of check in. That's the only difference.

Same. I'm Platinum. Has anyone figured out how to make this promo generate? I can't see it in the app or on a pc.

Which status level gives you guaranteed 4pm check out? Every time I ask for a late check out during check in they say I have to wait until day of check out to ask. When I do, they say they are fully booked and the latest they can do is like 1pm. Does late check out works at Marriott Vacation clubs also (the ones you rent directly from Marriott)?

Dang it...have existing trip to Maui for a week in Feb. Rebooking increases the total price by $500. Not sure if that's worth it.
1000 points is worth about $7
