I would want only the nail head slightly counter sunk in the wood to putty over. I don't want marks from the contact pin indenting the wood at all. Makes me use mo putty wich cost more, and just doesn't look like good craftsmanship. Then my wife makes me pull the whole thing out and yells at me and tells me how I'm not a man and I should have hired a real professional.

I have Hitachi version of this and it is a great little brad nailer. The only problem I had was using it on soft pine and the contact pin would indent the wood slightly. Maybe this is better, not sure.

Likely the same. Same tools, new name. Hitachi sells their tools under the "Metabo" banner in North America now.

I have no idea how the quality compares but my Lowes was selling the craftsman Brad nailer and 16 gauge nailer package for $55

Edit. Nevermind it's back to $110

I made my comment based only on the tool tip difference. Maybe they corrected with a new design. Only flaw on orig. "Hitachi" model IMO. Mine was used in production not DIY and held up well.

Don't you want a slight indentation so that you can putty over it?

HPT should be in title. There is no comparison (yet) between Metabo tools and Metabo HPT tools.
