Found a bunch of these at Home Depot today in the clearance section @ $1. It's the most basic soft white Hue bulb that doesn't do much other than dim.

MSRP: $15.00
Internet #: 311203059
UPC: 046677555689

Don't see on the Home Depot website now. Only the 75-watt equivalent showing.

Briskseek shows clearance at all local stores here:

Insane deal if you can find it
Even if these are plain white, Philips Hue bulbs are much higher quality than "plain ole" LED bulbs, so $1 is a great deal for them.

BS shows $9.97 for the only store around me with inventory.

Why is this line rated very good, though Kasa gives full spectrum wifi bulb at lesser price?

Is it the interface or the light output? I know Philips is better in light bulbs like ge, not sure about this bulbs, I only own couple kasa bulbs.

These are only 600 lumens and not same as the original hue line of 840/800 lumens. 50 watt equivalent vs 60 watt old ones. 9.5 watts vs 10 watts old ones.

As a learning point, how do these clearance HD and Lowe's deals work? Do they start discounting them by certain amounts, and keep lowering them till they are finally fully out of stock nationally? So, in this instance, there is some inventory somewhere in a America that is still left after the prior discount, so they drop it even further?

If that's the case, then the chances of these deals ever being found in remotely urban/suburban areas is slim-to-none, no? I assume when it gets to $1, its probably because 4 are left in some random town in North Dakota.

Am I off base?

P.S. If Brickseek shows OOS, does that mean I shouldn't bother going? Or could there be a few despite Brickseek's data? I've heard conflicting things.

Home Depot does it multiple ways.

In some cases just a simple small discount. That's usually not any great deal. Like $24.99 reduced to $22.99.

More common for real clearance items will be a stepwise progression with a $.06 then $.03 prices. So, for example, if it's a $40 item, the first step might be $20.06. Next step after some period of time would be $10.03. After that the price is set to $0.01 and the items are supposed to be pulled from shelves and disposed of in various ways.

Then you'll see percentage discounts on some items that are ordered and refused, open/damaged items, etc., like appliances that are just done one-off say at 20%.

Then at times they just randomly put some low price on things. That would be the case for these bulbs. I know that they weren't on clearance for any time since I was returning something that I'd bought just a couple of days ago and had looked at all of the Hue and clearance stuff then.

Likely not worth bothering with. Could be but your odds are very low.

HD has a special team that mark down merchandises. They go down from regular to a x.01 then x.02 then x.03 then then guess what, 1c.

Anything $1 or even # is a decision from a regional manager.

In my experience, you really want a minimum of 60w for enough brightness. 75w if you have higher ceilings. And 100w for double height applications

Totally depends on the fixture. I have a small bathroom with a six bulb vanity. Following your advice would lead to the Kenny Rogers Seinfeld episode Smilie

You know you can change the "hue" to either blazing harsh white to pretty much orange and anyone traditional bulb color in the app right??
