Update on my experience: I installed this on Friday. For reference, I have Spectrum gig internet plan, 2 story home, main router upstairs, satellite downstairs, doing wireless backhaul.

1. Setup was crazy easy, by far the easiest I have experienced among Mesh routers like Asus and Orbi. I was up and running in about 5-10 minutes. No false starts or restarting from scratch needed to get it working out of the box.

2. Speeds were not as fast I expected, but definitely among the fastest I have tested. Using my iPhone 13 Pro, I was able to get a top speed in the 600-700s right next to the router at first, but would usually average 400-500s. Was never able to achieve higher than that. Speeds were really inconsistent so I would sometimes get as low as 200-300s right next to the router or around the house as well. Hard to tell if it was the router or my ISP. The deco app did not have an option to test the internet connection from the modem to the router.

3. Similar issue with the satellite unit. I have a PC connected via ethernet to the satellite. When first started up, I would reach close to the 1gig speeds, But then for some reason, later I would only get half of that usually around 400-500s directly connected. Same for my wifi devices connected to the satellite, but sometimes even lower at 200s. Not sure if this is due to the dynamic backhaul switching bands possibly?

4. Dealbreaker for me was that my nest cameras would constantly disconnect. Similar problem I had with the XT8s.

I was looking forward to this system, but for my experience and purposes, it did not work out for me. I hooked up my Arris Surfboard mAX AX6600 (2 pack), and everything just works again and will probably keep it. I have more stable, consistent, higher speeds (close 600-700s; further 300-400s) than that of what I was able to get out of the Deco with wireless backhaul. I think the available reviews online (i.e. dong) tested it out when it first came out a year ago and it did not exactly wow anyone. But my guess is that firmware updates have improved it alot since, and from my experience, its working awesome and you get similar speeds from both the router and satellite.

If you want to check it out, here is the link. Its on sale for $299.99 and I think the sale ends today. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/arri...d=6443774. Also on amazon for same price too.

I bought this so will update with my experience after receiving it. From past posts and reviews, seems to be one of the fastest mesh (and even among stand alone routers) that can take full advantage if you have gigabit internet plans.

I'm upgrading from an Orbi RBK53s which has been stable and reliable. Just wanted faster speeds.

I've tried the following using wireless backhaul:
1. Orbi 753: couldn't even to get it set up initially out of the box despite multiple restarts and factory resets; got frustrated and returned
2. Asus XT8 - I liked the speeds when it worked. Sometimes it would take multiple tries during setup for it to recognize the satellite. Big problem I had was with nest cameras constantly disconnecting. Tried factory resetting, binding IPs, turning off 160 mhz channel, separate guest network, but still had that problem.
3. Currently trying out the ARRIS SURFboard mAX Tri-band AX6600 2 pack (on sale at Bestbuy and Amazon). So far I have been pleasantly surprised. Nest cameras working as expected. Average speeds are higher and more consistent compared to my experience with the XT8. Negatives are that it comes with only 2 Ethernet ports and are placed under the unit so my cables are slightly bent (will probably get right angle cables). Also there is no web interface and no real customizations or tinkering that you can do. However, it just works right now and giving me faster and stable speeds.

I purchased both.

The ax5700 is clearly the faster unit. However, the range did not work well in my house at all.

Switched to the 3 pack 3600 and the range is impeccable. However, the speeds are lower on paper but there is no noticeable difference in my daily activities (streaming 4k video, work etc).

connecting and naming devices is simple and easy on the deco app. great gui. i believe this model however, can have a lesser total number of devices connected (something to consider as seemingly everything is connected to the net these days). GL

How does this compare to AX3600? Anyone has any experience with that? I bought that just a couple of weeks back from Costco
I'm returning my X60 deco - which I bought around Christmas. This is so much better. I'm getting full speed on wifi even when I'm 20-30 feet away from the closest router. With X60 - I'd drop 20 to 30 percent.

I have a Nest Hello, and it was the only Nest product that stayed connected and didn't drop connection. My other cams (Nest indoor, outdoor, IQ indoor, and drop cams) couldn't stay connected.
This is good to hear, probably the one data point that will help me tip over and actually make the purchase. Thank you for the input.

Can I use these to replace Fios router/modem. TIA
Do you use fios for TV service or just internet? If just internet, this should be all that you need. If you are using TV service, that is where their devices really come into play. The only workaround I am aware of if you do TV as well is an HDHOMERUN prime and a cablecard, but I don't believe they are making anymore of those.

I bought it during Thanksgiving and ended up returning. How much I hoped this to work for me. I had it connected with Ethernet Backhaul. I had 2 issues with it.
1. My speeds with this was not more than 300 Mbps for my 1Gbps connection. With my current ON Hub routers setup as Google wifi, I get better speeds.
2. Every night, around 10 pm, this router will loose internet access. Happened continuously for 4 nights . Had internet on my Century link modem. Did some troubleshooting including rebooting, etc. but in vain.
Also to note that the app always told me that I had lots of interference.
I also had issues with ASUS XT8 and then on this. I'm still in the lookout for a reliable WiFi6 Mesh system.
On a side note, my friend has this system and it works like a charm for him....

Does the HomeShield functionality work for this set? If so, what is behind the HomeShield Pro subscription paywall?

Tiivo for DVR and replacement of Verizon STB's (you set it up as a MOCA hub). Went in for about $850 including the refurb minis (3) and replaced $65/mo of Verizon stuff. 15 month to break even … that was 3 1/2 years ago. Best move ever. You sacrifice Verizon on demand but it's not missed in this house. Thinking I may go with the edge at some time in the future if I move and sell what I have.

This or the AX11000 I havent opened yet?

I live in a high rise condo and my router (AC86U) is at one end and I can't get a very good signal on my terrace at the other end.

I also ran a wired backhaul to the room off the terrace so a mesh system should fix that.

Maybe wait for 6E since it's crowded up in here?

I was in the exact same situation with my XT8 where my nest cams keep getting disconnected. I then bought the XD6 instead, works flawlessly.

This or the ASUS AX86U?
If I was looking to spend the least and get the most possible THIS BY A MILE at $250 for 2 routers that each individual router is as powerful as a single $400-500 router its not even close.

If I cared to thinker with my network and money was no issue I would get the Asus AXE11000 which is an overpriced and not yet stable router primarily only cause its triband and wifi 6E. I would pick it over the AX11000 which is cheaper usually, but only because the AXE11000 is similarly priced when the AX11000 is not on a deep discount sale. If I could find a AX11000 on a good sale I would pick it up instead. The next step down would be the AX86U and I would try it wirelessly to see how it handles in AiMesh but to get the most out of it probably would want to hard wire them for back haul. Pretty much all options with only multi gig cause with wifi 6 the next major upgrade for a household or business is to upgrade the wired infrastructure to 2.5/5/10 gig lan, especially if you use in home streaming with a NAS box.

There is new AX11000 Pro router version coming out very soon too which looks interesting.

I also got this on sale last year and it's been running great in our two story house for months now. We don't have wired ethernet, so using the wireless backhaul. I have one unit downstairs plugged in to the modem and the second upstairs on the other side of the house. We have gigabit internet from Xfinity and I just got 677Mbps on my phone, 476 Mbps on a laptop connected via WiFi to the upstairs unit. I also have a bunch of Ring cameras and other IoT devices connected all around the house and outside and they've been rock solid. We have good WiFi coverage in our front yard, back yard, and up the hill some in back.

These do not have the free lifetime protection suite like older models of tp-link routers come with.

That's $5/mo extra.

Whats funny is that tp-link tried the software subscription model once already and changed it to free lifetime when nobody wanted to pay for it.

Be extra careful on the AX3000. They released another router with the same name. Ones made more than a year ago have the sub. New one doesn't.

I'll be sticking with my Deco M9+ for a good while longer. About the same thing minus wifi 6.Triband, and three of them can be had for $150.

Only wifi 6 device I own is my new phone. I'm fine with that on wifi 5.

Sorry if this has been asked but is it possible or beneficial to pair these with my existing Deco M5 mesh routers? I have three of the M5(s) currently. TIA!

Unfortunately these new devices are nowhere to be found. When they do come out they'll probably be two to three times as much as this.
