I came here to make a comment against Newegg because I don't support companies with restocking fees (apart from those selling large/dangerous/hugely heavy objects, maybe) but it occurred to me that I haven't even looked at their policy in several years. What a surprise to discover they have done away with restocking fees!

Just in case anyone else hadn't heard:

Careful searching the site there's a similarly priced open box WD Blue 3D NAND 1TB Internal SSD - SATA III 6Gb/s M.2 2280 Solid State Drive - WDS100T2B0B that seems much slower

These sneaky coupons mess up my sorts

Want to replace an old 1tb hdd 7200rpm data drive (pics, videos, docs, etc.)
Would you folks recommend another 7200rpm hdd or something like this?

Interface isn't going to be the same. You might be looking for a 2.5" sata drive to replace 7200 rpm spinning disk hdd

This is a very good drive despite the lack of DRAM cache. It pretty much is peak PCIe3 speeds. Although the regular price is more like $90, so I guess you are not saving much.

What is your exact laptop model? (probably on sticker on the bottom of laptop)

Sometimes laptops have both interfaces, so it might worth researching.

As stated by another user it might be a safer bet going with a 2.5 SSD Sata drive... but still post your laptop model, either myself or some other SD user can look it up for you.

Usually notebookcheck has a good visual breakdown of most laptop internals.

I would recommend tiered storage by pairing these two but Fuzedrive doesn't seem to want to sell software anymore just their own hardware infused with it

Sorry, should have mentioned this is for a desktop PC, with a new motherboard, so I do have an empty nvme slot.
Just not sure which route to go without spending too much.
The main windows storage is already high speed nvme.
