This mask is excellent for industrial purposes, but not intended to reduce spread of disease (such as COVID) because of its exhalation valve. Such a valve prevents/reduces your inhalation of many particles, but purposely allows your exhalation to freely exit the mask. In other words, it's great when you're at home sanding your wood projects or possibly drywall, but not for going to public places.

Please note that this is not an invitation to those of you who claim that "masks don't work" to turn this into a political discussion. I'm simply explaining the principle.

This is the best n95 mask I have worn. It really doesnt feel like you have a mask on at all when you're breathing.

This mask is a bad compromise. You can get an n100 mask with replaceable filters if you're doing industrial work, and you can get an n95 mask without a valve if you want a mask for day-to-day use and have a sense of morality.

Some people cannot wear a regular N95 masks. Elderly or people with any type of reduced pulmonary tidal volume can pass out because of increased CO2 level retention. The valve lets the exhalation escape easier as compared to trying to exhale through the filter medium.
When I worked in ICU we had to be tested that our lungs could handle wearing a regular N95 mask with out becoming light headed or dizzy. We would wear N95 masks when we took care of patients with Tuberculosis
It is very disappointing to see the CDC or NIH tout N95 masks without telling the public the risks for people with decreased pulmonarytidal problems. Elderly, people with COPD, black lung, asbestosis, asthma etc. For people with any type of decreased pulmonary function, the valve makes it easier to exhale the CO2.

I use these when doing yard work, since the valve helps with sweating etc...

Mid summer, I have to only change to a new mask once when cutting the lawn due to it getting sweaty and making it difficult to breathe.

As far as other uses, I use a better mask for those tasks.

There have been some newer N95 or similarly rated masks that are much easier to breath with.
