SOG Terminus XR Folding Knife 2.95" Clip Point D2 Tool Steel Black Blade G10 Handle Orange $19.99 + tax + shipping @ MidwayUSA [midwayusa.com]
MidwayUSA list price $59.99, and we're talking around $55 for this knife on Amazon. There are more premium versions in more premium steels for more, but this is a deal for good knife. Shipping is a bit high at $9.60 to me in North Idaho, but it's free if you spend $49. You might be able to order and pick up in store to save the shipping if you are close to a MidwayUSA. EDIT: this may be a one time deal with limited quantities, and other colors of the same knife are listed at regular price. Don't think on this one too long if you are interested.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly from Nick Shabazz on YouTube. [youtube.com] Remember he's reviewing this as a $70 knife. For $20 I can forgive a lot of his minor nitpicks
Here's LuvThemKnives with a review of both the D2 and S35VN versions. [youtube.com] He tested Rockwell hardness on both and got 61HRC on the D2!
I think this is a lot of knife for the money, at least worth three or four $10 Smith & Wessons from the recent deals, lol. Lots of good reviews floating around who are mostly saying this knife is a bit of a step up in quality for SOG. D2 is a semi-stainless tool steel that will hold an edge longer than anything in 8Cr13MoV, especially at 61HRC, and the coating on the blade should help with corrosion resistance. Just under a 3" blade for those who have restrictions.
And the star of this particular show is the XR lock the knife comes with that a lot of folks love. Pretty much SOG's version of the Benchmade Axis lock that the patent has expired on. Very flipper and fidget friendly.

It's my understanding the owners in the past year got a offer they couldn't refuse and sold the company. Reminds me I should get some more before my hookup possibly looses there discount.

I bought three and will give two as presents. Crazy deal and I've been wanting one of these for a while now.
I am a knife collector, and unless it is made in Taiwan, it is junk. Inferior steel', inferior design and workmanship. Does not compare to my Spiderco's (made in Japan) my Ontarios (made in Italy) or my American Made SOGs'.
The steel in particular is garbage. It is true some of the top companies are assembling blades in China made of US steel, but this blade is not one of them.
This knife is a good beater for daily use but it won't hold an edge and I most certainly would not depend on it in a life or death scenario. Buy this knife for the price but don't have unrealistic expectations.Chinese steel is garbage. Go look at manufacturing standards for Chinese vs higher quality steel. Taiwan is the exception, not the rule.
