In my personal opinion... Yes, in theory it would. You'll probably want to show up when the store opens. Make sure that the online price is still marked down. If it is, your best chance to check it out at that price is probably a self-checkout register (if you can; it'd be a rather large package). Make sure it scans at the desired price, and if it does, slide your card and check out. The self-checkout person will probably be watching all the transactions from their computer; maybe they note a real low price, maybe they don't.
Once the transaction is complete and the receipt is printed, you're in clear. At that point (in my non-legal opinion because this is not legal advice) the power tool set is your property, as money has changed hands and the property you paid for is in your physical possession; don't let anyone tell you otherwise (though if there is a disagreement after the transaction is complete, be polite but firm).
That's my personal advice, but do whatever you feel comfortable doing.
I'm reminded of an old consumerist story [consumerist.com] about a price mistake at a home depot self-checkout.
